We don't have a meeting tomorrow (5/16); instead, we have a joint meeting with SYTC online next Tuesday (5/24) :D
Last Monday, we invited a big, charming, and powerful speaker, Diana Watson. She gave us a useful workshop: how to prepare a table topic.
The skill of workshop can be applied not only to the table topics session in TM meetings but also to daily conversation.
When you are a table topics master or you meet new friends, you should avoid the policy, religion, and controversial issues, or sometime may cause arguments. They are not good ideas.
We can discuss personal experiences, preferences, or opening questions.
As you are the "Victims" who need to share the answers, you can practice answering the question directly and try to extend your answers (why, how, where). Therefore, the audients can understand the reason why you answer like this.
Table topics sessions are including 50% listening and 50% speaking. Many people may think the main purpose of Table topics session is about "speaking", but they forget that listening and understanding question is important as well.
All in all, we learned much in this workshop!
See you all next Tuesday!
