The Fempowerment Movement hosted its first vision board party on Saturday, December 1st, at the ARC Café. Six participants attended, and everyone had a wonderful time creating their vision boards, sharing ideas, and exchanging experiences. For most, it was their first time engaging in such an activity.

The food served at the café was delicious, the drinks were fantastic, and our hostess was warm and welcoming, adding to the pleasant atmosphere. After completing our boards, we took turns sharing what we had written and the affirmations we chose as our mantras to guide us toward achieving our goals.

Filled with laughter, amazing food, and great company, we parted ways, each promising to be one another’s cheerleader on this journey of growth and empowerment.

A heartfelt thank you to the ARC Café for providing such a beautiful and inspiring environment for this event. As part of the ARC Co-Create Hub, the café is more than just a space—it’s a haven where community problem-solvers can rest, recharge, and collaborate.

Stay tuned for our next event, and if you’re interested in joining the Fempowerment Movement, DM the Glenn Family Foundation on Instagram or email us at [email protected]. We can’t wait to connect with you!

Insufficient rainfall in 2023-2024 has taken a toll on vast areas of South America.

The map above shows shallow groundwater storage for the week of October 7, 2024, as measured by the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment Follow-On (GRACE-FO) satellites. The colors depict the wetness percentile, or how the amount of shallow groundwater compares to long-term records (1948-2010). Blue areas have more water than usual, and orange and red areas have less.

The drought is related in part to the lingering impact of El Niño, a climate pattern that was present for the latter half of 2023 and first half of 2024. The phenomenon—associated with an unusually warm layer of water in the equatorial Pacific—typically shifts rainfall patterns in a way that reduces rain in the Amazon, especially during the dry season months of July, August, and September, according to Prakrut Kansara, a hydrologist at Johns Hopkins University.
