The Arima Business Association is deeply saddened and profoundly disturbed by the tragic killing of Mr. Azard Pooran, prominent businessman and owner of Shock’n Stock Booksellers & Stationers.
Mr. Pooran was a longstanding member of the Arima business community whose contribution to education, entrepreneurship and commerce in our borough will not be forgotten. His passing has sent shockwaves throughout Arima and beyond.
On behalf of our Executive and members, we extend our sincere condolences to his family, friends, staff and all those affected by this senseless act of violence. We stand in solidarity with them during this time of grief.
The Arima Business Association calls on the relevant authorities to conduct a thorough and swift investigation to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice. Crime continues to impact our business community, and we reiterate the urgent need for strengthened security measures and meaningful collaboration between law enforcement, stakeholders and community leaders.
We encourage all business owners to remain vigilant and to review their security protocols to protect themselves, their staff and their establishments.
Arima must remain resilient. As a business community, we will continue to support one another and advocate for a safer environment in which our citizens and entrepreneurs can live and operate without fear.
May his soul rest in peace 🙏🏿
