About: Defending and providing educational equality
Motto: "My Purpose is greater than me"
General Information: "Naláa Circle" was chosen as the name of the the foundation due to the forceful meaning of these words. Naláa carries the meaning of 'family' 'gift' and 'success' and of course a circle is an entity which cannot be broken without loosing it original essence, thus Naláa Circle the
foun
dation strives to create an unbreakable family unit that renders the gift of success to others. Brief History: In May 2013 the foundation was established within the community of Dabadie. The first initiative that was embarked upon was a mentoring and academic guidance program. This allowed for
children of the community to receive the academic guidance needed in
the areas of Mathematics, English and specifically reading. The academic guidance program occurred on Saturdays,
where the time allocated to "teach" had to be carefully structured to maximize the resources that were available as well as to optimize on the enthusiasm of the fifteen (15) children ages six (6) to sixteen (16) that had opted to enroll in the initiative. This program has been successfully running for the past year and
we at Naláa have all intention of continuing with the hopes of assisting many more youth. Another initiative that Naláa Circle held was its first Stationary Drive in August 2013. This too was primarily geared toward providing the children of Dabadie with the academic tools needed to excel in the classroom. This drive was conducted on the basis of word of mouth and donations and was a great
success, based on this success we were able to aid children from San Juan, St. They were all provided with an academic year's supply of resources inclusive of writing and literary material, all of which were allotted based on the age grouping of the children. Considering the success of this drive it is the intention of Naláa Circle to make this an annual event.
