Healthy school lunch kits do not have to be time-consuming or costly.

For National Nutrition Awareness Week 2026, TTANDi is encouraging parents and guardians to make small, practical changes that can improve the nutrition of children’s meals.

Planning around supermarket specials, choosing local fruits and vegetables in season, swapping white bread for whole-wheat options, and adding vegetables to sandwiches and cooked dishes can help increase fibre, vitamins, and minerals.

Small changes can make lunch kits healthier, one bite at a time.

Let’s build a healthier future, bite by bite.

NNAW 2026 Myth Buster continues!

Boxed juice in the lunch kit? Let’s pause and check the label.

Many boxed juices and fruit drinks may look fruity and hydrating, but they can be high in sugar and low in real fruit. For daily hydration, water is a priority. For everyday sweetness, whole fruit is the healthiest choice.

Juice can be enjoyed sometimes, but water and fruit are foods that build a healthier future, bite by bite.

Today’s Myth and Fact for National Nutrition Awareness Week 2026 focuses on sugary snacks and high-fat foods.

Being active is important for children’s growth and health, but regular physical activity does not mean children should frequently have foods and drinks high in sugar, salt, and unhealthy fats.

Healthy food choices can support healthier growth, better eating habits, and reduce the future risk of obesity and lifestyle-related diseases.

Let’s build a healthier future, bite by bite.

As we kick off National Nutrition Awareness Week 2026, TTANDi is busting common myths and separating them from nutrition facts.

Today’s myth addresses the belief that extra weight in childhood is only a phase and will improve on its own without changes to eating habits, physical activity, and family routines. Instead, we are highlighting the importance of encouraging healthy habits from an early age, not through strict diets, but through healthy eating, regular activity, and positive, healthy changes as a family.

Let’s build a healthier future, bite by bite.
