Moms For Literacy Caribbean Moms For Literacy is a Non-Profit NGO committed towards improving the literacy skills of children in Trinidad and Tobago.

HISTORY

Moms for Literacy was established in 1992 by Ms. Amber Antonia Gonzales who recognized that many children were leaving the Primary School System, unable to read, write and comprehend efficiently. With the help of a group of mothers, she began the Remedial Reading Programme for children who were at risk of becoming illiterate adults. The Programme was designed to not only teach children to read but to motivate them and to help build their self-esteem and confidence.
