We close our TTCB South West Zonal Council 2-day campaign with a respectable draw vs Siparia Snypahs in an enthralling contest at St John this weekend.

Chasing 308 for 1st innings points, the DGCA batters were well on their way with Darren Ramdath 60 (68), Kevin Manohar 36 (68) and Aidan Bodoe 56 (67). At 238/4 we were on track thanks to Chandardath Bodoe 84 (169) but a slew of wickets left us 23 runs short.

Earlier on Day 1, Aidan Bodoe followed up his terrific bowling form from previous rounds with a masterful display of legspin bowling (6/74) to claim his 2nd 5-for this season ✨️

We lie 2nd on the table and now await the completion of the last round of matches (April 11 & 12) to know our final placing.

Congratulations to our very own Keshav Mongru, Nityum Mongru and Eshanan Deopersad on their selection to the National U15 cricket team leaving today for a 5-match bilateral series vs their Jamaican counterparts. Keshav has also been appointed captain of the team!

All three boys hail from St John Avocat and are proud members of the DGCA having started their cricketing journey with us at the Avocat Vedic (A.P.S.) School. All three previously represented the TT U13 and this step up to the next level shows their commitment and passion for the sport.

They have indeed made themselves, their parents, us at the DGCA and everyone in St John Avocat proud!

VICTORY ✌️ 🏏

DGCA recorded its first outright win of the season in Round 5 of the TTCB South West Zonal Council 2-Day League competition vs Rebellions at the NMO Recreation Ground to solidify their position atop the Senior Division group ✨️✨️🎖

Rebellions were asked to bat first and were bundled out for 132. DGCA found the going tough on a dry and turning pitch but a crucial partnership between father/son duo Dr. Chandardath Bodoe (77) and Aidan Bodoe (64) carried the total to 182 and helped build a valuable 50 run lead. In their 2nd innings, the Rebellions team were skittled for 110 with the DGCA spinners accounting for 17 of the 20 wickets to fall in the match. Aidan Bodoe (4/32 & 4/27), Kayden Manohar (2/40 & 4/20), Sarvashay Bissessarsingh (2/21) and Jayden Sahadeo (1/7) were the chief architects with the ball. Needing 61 off 10 overs at the end of the day's play, Darren Ramdath (31) and Aidan Bodoe (23*) made light work of the chase, utilizing just 5 of those overs!

Our final match will see us at home in St John to Siparia Snypahs on March 28 and 29, and another win can put us in contention for a playoff spot into Premiership II South for the 2027 season!

This weekend's hometown derby saw DGCA lock horns with its brother club Vijay Sports and Cultural Club at the "gabba" in St John in the TTCB South West Zonal Council Round 4 Senior Division 2-day League.

The Vijay boys were restricted to 148 after opting to bat first against a depleted DGCA with most of the boys focused on school exams. This did not deter the seniors from stepping up with Chandardath Bodoe, Darren Ramdath, Neil Mongru, Kevin Manohar, Ryerson Bhagoo and Krishna Laura Rampersad guiding us to first innings points and catapulting us to top of the table tied with NMO!

With 3 more rounds left, the race is tight and its still anyone's tournament to win!

We turn our attention to Rebellions to be played at NMO next weekend.

Game 3 of the TTCB South West Zonal Council 2 Day League was a fight to 1st innings points. In the end 6 runs proved the difference and DGCA settled for the draw.

Earlier on Day 1, excellent dogged batting by Kayden Manohar (57), Revesh Gopaul (26), Ryerson Bhagoo (27) and Neil Mongru (28*) took the innings down to the final 20 mins of play to keep the game firmly in the balance.

2nd day honors went to Jayden Sahadeo (5/47) and Chandardath Bodoe (3/ 53) back up by tidy spells from Sarvashay Bissessarsingh and Kayden Manohar for a drawn result in the end!

Next we come up against Vijay Sports and Cultural Club in the St John Trace derby in Round 4!

Yesterday marked a proud and inspiring moment 🏏

For the third consecutive year, the Daren Ganga Foundation officially launched the 2026 cycle of the Daren Ganga Cricket Academy-Barrackpore in collaboration with the Victoria United Sports Club at the Daren Ganga Recreation Ground.

Over 75 young, enthusiastic boys and girls came out to participate in the free youth cricket clinic, eager to learn, develop their skills and be part of something positive through sport.

This initiative reflects the vision of Daren Ganga — a true son of the soil from Barrackpore, committed to giving back to the very community that helped shape him. Through this programme, young athletes will benefit from mentorship, structured coaching and the opportunity to develop both cricketing talent and strong character.

The future of our cricket looks bright. 🌟🏏

Round 2 of the TTCB South West Zonal Council Senior Division 2-Day League completed and the boys put on an improved performance. Bouncing back from losing 1st innings last week, the youngsters set about their work like true professionals.

NMO were dismissed in their 1st innings for 112 thanks to a masterful legspin exhibition by Kayden Manohar who grabbed his first 5 wicket haul for DGCA. With the bat, a massive 2nd wicket partnership between Nityum Mongru and Keshav Mongru, who both scored hundreds, position DGCA in a commanding position.

With a lead of 146, NMO were able to hold on for the draw.

Proud moments continue for the team and individuals, with massive performances in these first 2 matches (two 5 wicket hauls and two hundreds!)

Before the start of the match, title sponsor Mohan Bajnath & Sons Ltd were on hand to meet the players and unveil the playing kit.

Good test of character for our boys in Game 1 of the TTCB South West Zonal Council 2 Day League (Senior Division).

Backs against the wall and the boys saved the match with resolute batting in tough conditions today (75 overs!)

Aidan Bodoe started the day picking off the final wicket to end PFCC innings and grab 5 wickets in the innings 👏

Next up, NMO on Feb 28 and Mar 01 at St John Recreation Ground.
