IMPORTANT NOTICE

Dear Parents and Guardians of the St. Joseph Police Youth Club,

We address you today with a sense of urgent concern. The time has come for us to take a firm stand on our children's screen time and the content they are exposed to. Our children are not developmentally ready to handle unrestricted access to the digital world. Their critical thinking, judgment, impulse control, and decision making abilities are still developing, making them particularly vulnerable to harmful influences.

Excessive screen time can also contribute to the development of addictive behaviours in young people who have not yet fully developed the self-regulation skills necessary to manage their usage responsibly. The constant stimulation provided by social media, online gaming, and digital entertainment can create unhealthy dependencies that affect academic performance, social relationships, emotional well being, and overall development.

We plead with you to be vigilant. For those of you who are co-parenting, we implore you to have immediate, direct conversations with your co-parents and your broader support systems whether grandparents, uncles, aunts, or other caregivers. If these individuals undermine the discipline, boundaries, and values you are striving to establish, they are not supporting your efforts. Consistency is essential. Children thrive when expectations are clear, boundaries are firm, and the adults in their lives work together.

This is not a casual suggestion; it is a parental imperative. The course of your child's life is influenced by the choices made today. We encourage you to monitor online activity, maintain open communication with your children, set appropriate limits, and remain actively engaged in their lives.

The investment you make now can help protect them from challenges that may have lasting consequences in the future.

Sincerely,

Leadership Team St Joseph police youth club

As the sun set on another productive and engaging day at the St Joseph police youth club, our members gathered together as Ms. Jeniece De Coteau led us in a moment of prayer before dismissal.

At the St. Joseph Police Youth Club, we believe that true youth development extends far beyond academics, sports, leadership, and life skills. Spiritual development remains a fundamental pillar of our holistic approach to nurturing young people. We are committed to helping our members build strong character, positive values, resilience, and a sense of purpose qualities that are strengthened through faith, reflection, and prayer.

One of Ms. De Coteau's favorite reminders to our members is:
"Prayer is like breathing."

Just as our bodies need air to survive, our hearts and minds need moments of prayer, gratitude, reflection, and connection with God to thrive. Prayer provides comfort during challenges, guidance during uncertainty, and strength when facing life's obstacles.
We also encourage parents, guardians, and families to cultivate an atmosphere of prayer within their homes. Regardless of your religious tradition or beliefs, setting aside time for spiritual reflection, gratitude, positive affirmations, and meaningful conversations can have a profound impact on a child's emotional, mental, and moral development.

When families create spaces where children feel supported, valued, and spiritually grounded, they help lay the foundation for confident, compassionate, and responsible future leaders.
Together, we continue to build young people who are not only successful, but also strong in character, purpose, and faith.

Leadership is not about standing above others, itโ€™s about standing among them. ๐Ÿ’™

Here we can see our Club Leader Woman Corporal Sascha Williams-Goddard took the time to pour wisdom, encouragement, and guidance into our youths, reminding them that every voice matters and every choice shapes their future. Surrounded by bright minds and open hearts, the circle became more than a meetingโ€ฆ it became a space for growth, unity, and empowerment. ๐Ÿ‘ฎ๐Ÿฝโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿฝ

Every child deserves the opportunity to feel safe, supported, educated and loved. Strong families build strong communities, but many families continue to face challenges such as financial struggles, unequal access to opportunities, limited support systems and community violence.

At the St Joseph police youth club we believe that when families are supported, children are given a better chance to grow, succeed and reach their full potential.

Let us continue working together to:
๐Ÿ’™ Support parents and caregivers
๐Ÿ“š Encourage education and youth development
๐Ÿค Build safer and stronger communities
๐ŸŒ Promote equality and opportunity for every child

Because every child matters. Every family matters.

Mental Health Month reminds us that healing, support and understanding matter not just in May, but every single day.

From Friday, May 1st, 2026 to Sunday, May 31st, 2026 the St Joseph police youth club stand in support of every young person, parent, caregiver and community member facing silent battles.

Mental health affects how we think, feel, communicate and cope with everyday life. It is okay to ask for help. It is okay to speak up and it is important that we continue creating safe spaces where people feel heard, valued and supported.

At the St. Joseph Police Youth Club, we believe stronger communities begin with care, compassion and connection. Together, we can encourage positive conversations, reduce stigma and support one another through lifeโ€™s challenges.

๐Ÿ’š Check in on your friends
๐Ÿ’š Take care of yourself
๐Ÿ’š Speak kindly to others
๐Ÿ’š Ask for help when needed
๐Ÿ’š Remember that your life has value

You are not alone.

๐Ÿšจ YOUTHS TAKING BACK THE COMMUNITY! ๐Ÿšจ

The members of the St Joseph police youth club are preparing to launch our Community Cleanup Drive at First Capital Park!

Right now, we are gathering cleaning supplies as we work together to restore a safe, clean and positive space for everyone.

WHY SHOULD THE PARK BE CLEANED?

1๏ธโƒฃ A clean park helps create a healthier environment for families and children.

2๏ธโƒฃ Parks should be safe spaces where youths can play, exercise and socialize positively.

3๏ธโƒฃ Keeping our community clean shows pride, unity and respect for where we live.

This is more than just cleaning a park, this is about rebuilding community spirit and showing that young people CARE. โค๏ธ

If you would like to donate supplies, volunteer or support this initiative, feel free to contact us.

Together, we can make a difference!
