❕Are you a registered NGO/CSO/NPO?
‼️ Have you heard about the EU-funded action IGNITE CSOs (Improving Governance, Networking, and Inclusivity Towards Empowered Civil Society Organisations) we're implementing with our partners Veni Apwann?
Through this project, civil society is leading concrete efforts to enhance the capacities, policy engagement opportunities, and legislative environment for CSOs, to foster a more inclusive, participatory, empowered, and independent civil society in T&T.
We are asking all TT-registered NGOs/CSOs/NPOs to contribute to the process of improving civil society's relationship with the financial sector by completing this important survey, the results of which will help inform our multi-stakeholder approach and actions to:
✅mitigate the adverse effects of bank de-risking of NPOs and
✅develop standardised banking guidelines for NPOs and financial institutions
🙏Please identify a suitable representative to complete.

The on-demand learning will be held virtually in September and October 2024. For those based in Trinidad and Tobago we hope that some of you will also become ‘super trainers,’ via our 3-day in-person training event, so that you can become CDM champions at the community level.

Mind yuh business!

As civil society, quite a lot of our advocacy revolves around engaging with the State on behalf of our beneficiaries. However, this can be often confusing and frustrating for many CSOs.

To help shed some light on best practice in policy engagement, we are bringing two fantastic speakers as part of our parallel workshop series. In this workshop on 'Influencing Policy Change,' participants will benefit from a how-to conversation on CSO engagement with the Parliamentary process, and a case study on successful CSO co-leadership of a policy development process.

We are delighted to have as our two facilitators:
Chantal La Roche - Director, Legal Services, Office of the Parliament
Kemba Jaramogi - Kemba Jaramogi, Technical Director, Fondes Amandes Community Reforestation Project

Make sure and tune in to benefit from their expertise and experiences!

Mind yuh business!

But…It’s all our business! As civil society, most of our work intersects with other issues that often add to the barriers that must be overcome by our beneficiaries. Our Breakout Panel Discussion for focuses on Intersectional Advocacy - A conversation among CSO leaders on the importance of intersectional advocacy in advancing individual and collective impact, and lessons learnt from their experiences in Trinidad and Tobago.

We are bringing to the virtual table four CSO trailblazers and influential voices in advocacy across diverse issue areas:

Dr. Angelique Nixon, Director of CAISO: S*x and Gender Justice, and senior lecturer & researcher at The UWI’s Institute for Gender and Development Studies.

Gillian Goddard, Co-founder of The Alliance of Rural Communities and Convener of the Cross Atlantic Chocolate Collective.

Ozzi Warwick, Chief Education and Research Officer and Treasurer of the Oilfields Workers’ Trade Union (OWTU), and General Secretary of the Joint Trade Union Movement.

Shaleeza Khan-Ali, President of the Islamic Ladies Social & Cultural Association, and Founder of Call To Action for Social Change.

This panel is moderated by Ardene Sirjoo, Communications & Advocacy Lead at The Cropper Foundation.
