ers embrace the challenge of making something where before there was nothing, and we recognise the need to nurture and support this fragile and demanding process of creation. FILMCO advocates for the recognition of film and television production as a legitimate means of earning a livelihood and generating employment – as it is elsewhere on the global stage. We are continuing and magnifying the work of industry trailblazers who have gone before us. We are resolved to create a community of empowered film and television producers, directors and writers with agency over their own careers, supported by systems and structures that can sustain their work. Towards achieving this vision, FILMCO’s core areas of focus are currently distribution of films and television programmes, management of the annual trinidad+tobago film festival and industry-specific professional development and training. We are also working to grow a supportive and vibrant membership organisation that provides innovative solutions and services which respond to the needs of our members and community so that they feel encouraged and valued. Through open sharing and constructive participation we are also making a positive contribution to the wider creative landscape of Trinidad and Tobago. Website: filmco.org

Founded in January 2017 by four filmmakers from Trinidad and Tobago, FILMCO is a non-profit organisation dedicated to creating a sustainable ecosystem for film and television producers and directors in Trinidad & Tobago and the wider Caribbean and to being a leader in the sustained development of a diverse audio-visual industry.

FILMCO’s core areas of focus are currently distribution of films and television series and industry-specific professional development and training as well as the development of a strong and vibrant membership organisation.
