Propelling Young Ladies who Aspire to Redefine and Reinvent (PYLARR) is a bonafide Non Governmental Organization of dedicated, passionate and innovative young people yearning to influence positive change in Trinidad and Tobago. The members of this organization focus their energies on fostering gender equity through the empowerment of women who are most at risk. Each year, this group coordinates an
d executes a series of workshops focused on the development of the heart (emotions), body (health) and mind (guidance on the academic and career path) of young girls who are about to transition from the St. In this programme, trainees/ mentees are urged to take their places as pillars in society by redefining and reinventing themselves. Workshops and activities focus on: self esteem building, anger management, health and well being, career and academic guidance and planning for the future. With these tools, girls recognize that they could achieve greatness. This organization, although just three years old, continues to improve their projects every year. To date, this group has partnered with many organizations including: the National Mentorship Programme, the Ministry of Social Development (the HIV Co-ordinating Unit), Eco Truffles, Gideon International, Digi Data Communications, the Association of Female Executives of Trinidad and Tobago and the Ministry of National Diversity and Social Integration, just to name a few.
