With grateful hearts, we thank everyone who contributed to the Mission Sunday Special Collection this past weekend.
Through your generosity, the Archdiocese of Port of Spain joins Catholics around the world in supporting the missionary work of the Church, helping to strengthen faith communities, support those who serve, and continue the work of sharing the Gospel.
Your contribution is more than a gift. It is your participation in a mission we share as one Church, united across parishes, countries and cultures through our faith in Christ.
Thank you for answering the call to mission and for helping the Church continue this important work.
Together, we remain One in Christ, United in Mission.

This weekend, October 17 and 18, we come together as one Church for the Mission Sunday Special Collection.
Our faith connects us to brothers and sisters we may never meet, in communities far beyond our shores, where the Church continues to share the Gospel, provide pastoral care, form people in faith and serve those most in need.
Mission Sunday gives each of us an opportunity to participate in that work.
As you prepare for Mass this weekend, we invite you to prayerfully consider your contribution. Together, our individual gifts help strengthen the Church’s mission and support those who have committed their lives to carrying it forward. This weekend, let us remember that mission belongs to all of us. Wherever we are, and whatever we are able to give, we remain One in Christ, United in Mission.

This weekend, parishes throughout the Archdiocese of Port of Spain will participate in the Special Collection for Mission Sunday.
Our contribution is an opportunity to join Catholics around the world in supporting the missionary work of the Church and the communities that depend on it.
As you prepare for Mass next weekend, we invite you to prayerfully consider your contribution. Every gift becomes part of our collective response to Christ’s call to mission.

This weekend, October 17 and 18, the Archdiocese of Port of Spain joins the universal Church in supporting Mission Sunday.
Through the Special Collection, we have an opportunity to support the Church’s missionary work and stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters in communities around the world.
Our individual gifts become part of a collective effort to share the Gospel, strengthen faith communities and support those who have committed themselves to the Church’s mission.
This weekend, let us give prayerfully and generously, remembering that although we may serve in different places and in different ways, we remain One in Christ, United in Mission.

10/10/2026

We may not all be called to leave our homes and serve as missionaries in another country, but each of us has a role in the mission of the Church.
We participate through prayer, through the way we live and share our faith, and through our generosity towards those carrying out the Church’s missionary work.
Mission Sunday reminds us that mission belongs to all of us. When each person contributes what they can, we strengthen the work of the wider Church.
This October, let us consider how we can play our part. Be sure to walk with a little extra to for our special collection on next weekend, October 17& 18

Across the world, missionaries serve communities where the Church may have limited financial and material resources.

Their work includes evangelisation and faith formation, as well as pastoral care and other forms of support that respond to the needs of the communities they serve.
The Mission Sunday Collection allows us to stand in solidarity with this work and help strengthen the Church’s presence in communities beyond our own.
As we prepare for the Special Collection on October 17 and 18, let us remember that our generosity here in Trinidad and Tobago contributes to the mission of the universal Church.

The mission of the Church takes many forms.
It can be found in the priest serving a remote community, the religious sister caring for vulnerable families, the catechist sharing the faith, or the missionary helping to provide education and practical support where resources are limited.
Mission Sunday gives Catholics around the world an opportunity to support this work together.
From Trinidad and Tobago, our contribution becomes part of something much larger, helping the Church continue its mission wherever the need exists.

As Catholics, our faith connects us to a Church that extends far beyond our own parish and our own country.
Mission Sunday reminds us that, wherever we live, we are united through Christ and share in the responsibility of carrying His mission forward.
This year’s theme, “One in Christ, United in Mission,” invites us to recognise that we are part of one Church, working together to share the Gospel and serve communities around the world.
Over the coming weeks, we will share more about this mission and how we can each play a part.

Throughout September, we have looked at the many people and ministries involved in forming the next generation.
We have considered the role of Catholic education, parents and families, catechists, youth ministry, sacramental preparation and the wider parish community. Each contributes to the development of children and young people in a different way.
This work does not happen only during September. Formation is an ongoing part of the Church's mission and requires the continued commitment of people, ministries and resources throughout the year.
Through your support of the Archbishop's Appeal, you help the Church continue investing in children, families and young people across Trinidad and Tobago.
Together, we are forming the next generation.

A child learns at school, develops values at home, discovers faith through family and parish life, and learns from the example of the adults around them.
This is why forming the next generation is a shared responsibility.
Our Catholic schools, families, catechists, youth ministries, clergy and parish communities each contribute something important to the development of our children and young people.
The Archbishop's Appeal supports different areas of the Church's mission that help bring these efforts together, from education and family life to catechesis and youth development.
When these areas are strengthened, our children are better supported as they learn, grow and develop their faith.
