ROOTS Foundation TT

ROOTS Foundation TT The Oral Tradition ROOTS Foundation, has a mandate to develop spoken word poetry and other oral traditional forms as a catalyst for social change in T&T.

The Oral Tradition ROOTS Foundation, incorporated in November 2009 under the Companies Act, 1995 and registered in June 2014, under The National Registry of Artists and Cultural Workers in the Fields of Endeavour: Promotion and Event Management, has a mandate to develop spoken word poetry and other oral traditional forms as a catalyst for social change in Trinidad and Tobago, as well as in the Car

ibbean and at international levels. In doing so, ROOTS seeks to revive the oral traditions, sensitize the community of its importance, provide a medium for the expressions of talented poets, and provide a medium for performances and readings. Positioned as one of the largest and most active advocates for using spoken word poetry as a catalyst for social activism. Through the use of oral traditions as a tool in cognitive-behavioural therapy; the intertextuality of spoken word poetry as a public pedagogical discourse, as will be narrated through the community panchayat series, will demonstrate that our thoughts causes our feelings and behaviours, not external things like people, situations and events.

Every piece of plastic has potential beyond the bin.

When we recycle and upcycle plastic waste, we are not just reducing pollution, we are creating opportunities for cleaner communities, healthier oceans, and a more sustainable future. A single bottle can become art, furniture, school projects, or something useful instead of ending up in drains, rivers, or the sea.

Beating plastic pollution begins with changing the way we see waste. What we throw away today can become something meaningful tomorrow.

Together, through creativity, education, recycling, and upcycling, we can turn plastic pollution into positive change.

CORRECTION NOTICE

On Mother’s Day, The Oral Tradition ROOTS Foundation proudly paid tribute to some of the Top Mothers of Trinidad and Tobago for their leadership, service, and contribution to national development.

We wish to acknowledge that the placement of the Office Holders’ photographs in the poster was inadvertently done out of the official National Order of Precedence. We sincerely apologize for this oversight and extend our deepest respect to all Office Holders represented.

Our intention was solely to celebrate and honor the remarkable women and mothers who continue to serve our nation with distinction.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.

A day filled with learning, creativity, and hope for a cleaner future!

Our Beat Plastic Pollution workshop at St. Crispin Anglican School was a wonderful success as students came together to learn how small actions can create BIG environmental change. From understanding the dangers of plastic pollution to transforming recycled materials into creative art pieces, the children showed incredible enthusiasm, imagination, and teamwork.

Seeing young minds excited about protecting our oceans, communities, and planet reminds us that the future is bright when we educate and empower the next generation.

Together, we are building a culture of recycling, responsibility, and environmental care, one child, one bottle, and one positive action at a time.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported and participated in making this impactful workshop possible. The journey to Beat Plastic Pollution continues!
