Every older person was once the child we promised to protect.
As we grow older, our need for dignity, respect, inclusion and support does not disappear.
Elder abuse is not always physical. Sometimes it happens when older persons are excluded from decisions, spoken about instead of spoken to or have their choices taken away.
This World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, let us move beyond awareness and make prevention work.
