Born within the heart of His Excellency Sri Malay Mishra, High Commissioner of India to Trinidad and Tobago, and grown in the minds of the participants of the Know India Program (KIP), the Know India Youth of Trinidad & Tobago (KIYTT) welcomes YOU, the diaspora youth to be a part of our organization of young, talented, versatile, dynamic and diverse academics! One of the more recent Ministries fo
rmed by the Government of India, the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA), is dedicated to developing networks with the intent of building partnership with the Diaspora. We are proud to announce that our group, the KIYTT is the very first of its kind to be launched as part of a global initiative of the MOIA in the formation of an Overseas Indian Youth Club (OIYC). OIYC has been specifically created to engage the Diaspora youth between ages
18 – 30 years in countries where the Indian Diaspora constitute a significant presence. Being an associate member of KIYTT, one of our primary functions is to solidify the link between India and the Diaspora Youth of Trinidad and Tobago by forming that cardinal bond between our fellow Trinbagonian and contemporary India. Some KIYTT Goals and Objectives
> To perform charitable activities
> To engender pride of our heritage via socio-cultural events
> To raise awareness of the Know India Program to the Indian Diaspora youth of Trinidad and Tobago and to other countries within the region
> To share our experiences of the Know India Program (KIP) with the youth of Trinidad and Tobago about contemporary India
etc...
NB: As there are limited seats available per annum, acceptance into the program is not automatic as all candidates will be competing with other Diaspora youth in Trinidad and Tobago who also fulfill these requirements. However, joining and ACTIVELY supporting and participating with the KIYTT before applying affords one the competitive edge over other candidates as (based on your participation) you could very well be recommended for the KIP by the KIYTT executive board! Join us and constructively contribute to diversifying the socio-cultural landscape of our nation. Participate in a host of various charitable, socio-cultural and academic events! Be a part of us and echo the famous words of the great Mahatma Gandhi -
“Be the change you want to see in the world!”
