Behind every regatta weekend is a team effort. β›΅πŸ‘
This weekend at Nationals, we are proud to recognize not only our athletes out on the water, but also the incredible volunteers, coaches, parents, and support crew working tirelessly behind the scenes to make it all possible.

From launching boats, driving safety boats, handling logistics, supporting sailors, and keeping everything running smoothly, this weekend is a reminder that sailing is truly a community effort.

We’re proud of our athletes for their hard work, determination, and sportsmanship, and deeply grateful to every volunteer who continues to give their time, energy, and heart to the growth of the sport.

Stay tuned for Series 2: 18 and 19th of April

It takes a village β€” and this is ours. πŸ’™β›΅

Pre-rig. Prep. Repair. Repeat. β›΅οΈπŸ”§
Today at ALSA, the yard was full of energy as sailors got their boats ready for Nationals. From last-minute adjustments to teamwork around the boats, this is what the day before competition looks like.
The racing may start tomorrow, but the preparation started long before today.
Locked in and ready. 🌊

Did you know? β›΅

The Andrew Lewis Sailing Foundation / Academy was built by a group of passionate coaches who recognised a major gap in sailing in Trinidad and Tobago and decided to do something about it.

What started as an initiative to rebuild and grow the sport has become a movement focused on developing elite sailors, para-inclusive sailing, female participation, and youth dinghy sailing. We are proud to be part of shaping a stronger future for the sport and creating more opportunities for the next generation.

This is more than just sailing. It is development, inclusion, representation, and legacy. 🌊

Coach Alexis Harridan and Senior Instructor Yannick Aleong were proud to represent the Andrew Lewis Sailing Academy at Bishop Anstey Junior School for another exciting outreach clinic, introducing primary school students to the sport of sailing ⛡️

This visit forms part of our ongoing outreach series aimed at bringing more young sailors into the Optimist (Opti) programme and helping to revitalize youth sailing in North Trinidad and Tobago. Through these school visits, we hope to inspire children ages 6–12 to discover sailing, build confidence on and off the water, and become part of the next generation of sailors.

A special fun fact β€” Bishop Anstey Junior School is the alma mater of two of the founders of the Andrew Lewis Sailing Foundation, Kristof and Stefan StΓΌven, who also serve as coaches at the Andrew Lewis Sailing Academy. We are especially proud to begin this collaboration with a school that holds such personal meaning to our team.

We’ll be popping up at more schools soon, and we’d love to visit yours too. If your school is interested in having ALSA join an assembly, school fair, career day, or other event, feel free to reach out.

Stay tuned for more as we continue growing sailing, one school at a time πŸŒŠβ›΅οΈ
