If you didn’t finish the whole Qur’aan this month, don’t despair. If you understood one Surah deeply and implemented it in your life, you have gained something immense. Focus on the Tadabbur (reflection) we’ve been practicing. Allaah rewards the effort of the heart. Keep going, sister—every letter is a blessing!

Don’t let your hunger make you harsh. As sisters growing in our knowledge of The Islamic Creed, we know that the heaviest thing on the scale is good character. If your fast isn’t making you softer, kinder, and more patient with your family and sisters at the Masjid, it’s time for a heart check-in. True knowledge is seen in the way we speak.

We are at the finish line’s doorstep. The Prophet (ﷺ) used to tighten his belt and stay awake during the last ten nights. If you’ve felt sluggish this week, now is the time to regroup. This is where the race is won. Start planning your Itikaf and your specific Dua list for Laylatul Qadr now.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “The people will remain on the right path as long as they hasten the Iftaar.” [Sahih Bukhari]. Don’t miss the golden window of Dua right before you eat. It’s a moment of weakness for the body, but a moment of immense strength for the soul. Ask for Istiqamah (steadfastness).

We often look for huge acts of worship, but sometimes the greatest Ibadah is right in your kitchen. Pouring a glass of water for your mother or speaking a kind word to your father is a heavy deed on the scale. As we learn in our study of Creed, obedience to Allaah is tied to being dutiful to parents. Don’t let your “extra” prayers make you forget the “obligatory” kindness.

The Salaf used to say that the gaze is a poisoned arrow from the arrows of Iblees. In an age of endless scrolling, we must be the gatekeepers of our own eyes. If you want a heart that tastes the sweetness of Imaan, you must protect what enters it. Today, make an intention to turn away from anything—on your screen or in your street—that doesn’t bring you closer to Allaah.

To the mother whose house feels louder than her prayers today, and to the student whose books feel heavier than her heart—this reminder is for you.

The Understanding of ‘La Hawla’:
This phrase is not just a statement of “patience”; it is a profound declaration of Tawheed. When you say La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah, you are making an admission of your own total helplessness (Faqr) and affirming that no transformation (from sickness to health, from stress to peace, from laziness to worship) can happen except by the permission and power of Allaah.

The Authentic Reward:
The Prophet (ﷺ) told Abu Musa al-Ash’ari(رضي الله عنه): “Shall I not tell you of a treasure from the treasures of Paradise? It is: La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah.” (Sahih Bukhari & Muslim).

Why this matters now:
• It Destroys Pride: It reminds us that we don’t finish Ramadan because we are “strong,” but because Allaah enabled us.
• It Relieves Anxiety: When you realise the outcome of your exams or your children’s upbringing is in the hands of the All-Powerful, the burden lifts from your shoulders.
• It Grants Spiritual Strength: Acknowledging your weakness is not a defeat; it is the first step to receiving aid from Allaah (Al-Musta’an).

The Action Point:
Whenever you feel the “mid-month burnout” today, stop. Breathe. Recite this treasure from Paradise with full conviction. Let go of the illusion that you are in control, and rely upon the One who never tires.

We have reached the midpoint. For many, the initial excitement has faded, and the physical toll of fasting and standing in Qiyam is being felt. Some of you may be looking back at the last 14 days and feeling a sense of guilt, thinking: “I haven’t done enough.”

The Perspective on Sabr:
Patience (Sabr) is not just waiting; it is constancy in obeying Allah, even when the soul is tired. The Salaf used to say that the end of a matter is more important than its beginning.
If you feel you have been negligent, do not let that despair keep you from the next 15 days.

Three Ways to Re-calibrate Today:
1. Renew the Niyyah: Sincerity (Ikhlaas) is the soul of our deeds. Even if your deeds are few, ensure they are purely for Allaah. A small deed with a sincere heart is heavier than a mountain of deeds done for show.
2. Patience in Consistency: If you cannot read a whole Juz, read a page. If you cannot stand all night, stand for two Raka’ats. The most beloved deeds to Allaah are those that are consistent, even if they are small.
3. Think Well of Allaah: Do not believe the lie that you have “missed your chance.” Allaah is Al-Ghafoor (The All-Forgiving) and Al-Shakur (The Most Appreciative). He sees the struggle in your heart.

The Goal:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said that actions are judged by their endings. It is not about how you started; it is about how you finish. Dust off your Mushaf, straighten your prayer mat, and keep moving forward. The best nights are still ahead.

We are deep into the second ten days of Ramadaan. By this stage, the initial “spiritual adrenaline” may be wearing off, and the temptation to scroll through social media to pass the time can become a major thief of our Aamanah (trust)—our time.

The Principle: Guarding the Time
The Pious Predecessors رضي الله عنهم were more stingy with their time than they were with their wealth. They understood that every second in Ramadaan is an unrepeatable opportunity for Dhikr and Tadabbur.

The Tip: The 30-Minute Phone-Free Window
The time immediately following Suhoor and Fajr is filled with Barakah. The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “O Allah, bless my Ummah in their early mornings.” (Sunan Abi Dawud, Authenticated by Al-Albani).

How to reclaim your soul-time today:
1. Phone Face-Down: From the moment the Adhan for Fajr begins until 30 minutes after prayer, keep your phone in another room or face-down on silent.
2. Focus on Adhkaar: Use this window for the morning Adhkar (remembrances). These are the “fortress” that protect your heart for the rest of the day.
3. Replace ‘Feeding’ with ‘Reflecting’: Instead of feeding your mind with the lives of others on a screen, feed your soul with the Words of your Creator.

The Goal:
We fast from food to purify the body; let us fast from digital noise to purify the heart. When you silence the world, you can finally hear the Qur’aan.

As we navigate the middle ten days of Ramadaan, we must remember that the greatest relief for any distress—whether it be anxiety, grief, or hardship—is found in returning to the basics of our Aqeedah (Creed).

The Reality of the Du’aa:
When Prophet Yunus عليه السلام called out from the belly of the fish, he didn’t just ask for a way out. He began by affirming the Uluhiyyah (Right to be worshipped) of Allaah.

Scholars of the Salaf noted that this Du’aa contains three powerful pillars of worship:
1. Tawheed (Monotheism): “None has the right to be worshipped but You.” This is the foundation of all ease.
2. Tasbeeh (Glorification): “Glorified are You.” Declaring Allah free from any imperfection or injustice.
3. Istighfar (Repentance): “Truly, I have been of the wrongdoers.” Admitting our shortcomings and our total need for His Mercy.

The Authentic Benefit:
The Prophet (ﷺ) said: “No Muslim ever prays to his Lord with these words for anything, but He will answer his prayer.” (Reported by At-Tirmidhi, authenticated by Al-Albani).

The Action Point:
If your heart feels constricted today, don’t look to the creation for a solution. Turn to the Creator. Realise that once you rectify your relationship with Allaah through Tawheed and sincere repentance, He will make a way out for you from places you could never imagine.

The Goal:
Let us purify our hearts from everything other than Him. When Allaah is enough for you, the “darkness” of your circumstances can no longer harm you.

Alhamdulillaah! We have officially crossed the first ten days! By now, you might be looking at your Qur’aan tracker and feeling a bit behind. Or perhaps you’ve been reading pages every day, but your heart hasn’t quite “caught up” to the words.

The Reality of Tadabbur:
In our rush to complete the Qur’aan (Khatam), we sometimes forget that the Qur’aan was revealed to be reflected upon (Tadabbur), not just recited.

The Reminder:
It is better to read 5 verses with deep reflection, tears in your eyes, and a change in your heart, than to finish 5 pages with a distracted mind. Allaah is looking for the weight of the deed on your scale, not just the volume.

How to practice Quality today:
1. Read the Translation: If Arabic isn’t your first language, don’t just recite; spend time with the meaning of those 5 verses.
2. Ask Three Questions:
• What is Allaah telling me here?
• How does this apply to my life today?
• What is one action I can take based on this verse?
3. Stay a Little Longer: After finishing your reading, sit for 2 minutes in silence. Let the Barakah of the words settle into your soul.

The Goal:
Let’s stop counting pages and start counting the moments our hearts truly connected with our Creator.
