We return to the historic Woodford Square on Saturday 8 March, 10:00am to 12pm, where we will be joined by the Mayor of Port of Spain for the IWD Proclamation. Then we march - leaving from the square and continuing South on Frederick street, west on Independence Square South, North on Abercromby, East on Park, South on Frederick, and back to square.
The international theme is “Accelerate Action” - you are invited to include your specific issues and concerns.
We invite us all to share ideas for how we Accelerate Action for these most pressing issues and concerns: for gender equality and justice; for all women and girls; for women’s bodily autonomy; for rights, equality, empowerment; sexual rights; for gender and climate justice; for disability justice; for citizen engagement; and more.
We initiate calls to action on the following issues: climate action; increased protections for girls; state responses to femicide and GBV; state action and approval of a National Gender Policy; greater resources for women’s health, peace, and security.
