ering from maternal grief the bereaved mother Jamila Forde, decided to create a foundation that will somehow provide support to parents or guardians who have experience loss through similar circumstances. Upon meeting, they deliberated their feelings, thoughts, opinions, and ideas on how they can bring about positive changes regarding loss of life to children from public negligence. Jemimah Agard Foundation is a not- for profit organization formed after the drowning death of Jemimah Agard at the YMCA pool on June 2nd 2014. The foundation represents the resounding convictions of a bereaved mother that no parent must suffer the loss of his or her child to due to negligence. The intent is to assist parents or guardians who have lost children in those regards, while working with the relevant authoritative bodies to ensure, foster, and promote “children’s rights

Our Story

WHO WE ARE Jemimah Agard Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing grief counselling and psychological support services to persons who have suffered the loss of a child, sibling, parent, guardian or spouse through traumatic circumstances. Jemimah Agard Foundation seeks to ensure that trauma grief counselling and psychological support services exist and are accessible to children, siblings, parents’ guardians and spouses within Trinidad and Tobago. Grief Counselling

The grief counselling sessions will be delivered by psychologist, counsellor or grief specialist, in individual or family group settings. It will provide members with mechanisms and techniques on coping with grief, while presenting an avenue to express emotions.
