Nelson Mandela Day | 18 July 2026

Today we honour the life and legacy of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela—a man who showed the world that courage, forgiveness, and service can transform lives.

Nelson Mandela Day reminds us that each of us has the power to make a difference. Whether it's lending a helping hand, supporting someone in need, or standing up for what is right, every act of kindness creates lasting change.

"It is in your hands to create a better world for all who live in it." — Nelson Mandela

Let's continue building stronger, more compassionate communities—one act of service at a time.

Be the legacy. Serve with purpose. Lead with love.

🩷When Sisters Are Called, Sisters Show Up! 🩷

At the very last minute, a fellow NGO reached out to Sisters Uplifting Sisters for assistance at the Community Health Fair held today, Sunday 12th July 2026, at Biche Secondary School and without hesitation, our sisters answered the call. 🩺🩷

We are incredibly proud of every sister who volunteered her time and energy to support this meaningful initiative hosted by the Office of the Member of Parliament for Mayaro Honorable Mr. Nicholas Morris MP in partnership with SEWA TT and the Eastern Regional Health Authority .

Today was a beautiful reminder that community service is not only about what we plan it is also about being willing to step forward when help is urgently needed.

To our dedicated sisters who showed up and served with love, compassion and kindness, thank you for representing our organization so beautifully. Your commitment to helping others is truly appreciated.

We also commend all the organizers, healthcare professionals and volunteers who worked together to provide free health screenings, medical consultations, wellness services and care to members of the community.

When Sisters Support Sisters, Great Things Happen and when communities support one another, lives are impacted. 🩷💜🩷

Today, we do not only say “Happy Labour Day” we pause to remember the true meaning behind this day.

Labour Day in Trinidad and Tobago represents sacrifice, courage, unity, and the voices of ordinary workers who stood up for dignity, justice, and fair treatment. Because of their strength, many of the rights and protections workers benefit from today were made possible.

As Sisters Uplifting Sisters, we honour every worker the mothers and fathers, the builders and cleaners, the teachers and nurses, the drivers and farmers, the office workers, labourers, entrepreneurs, public servants, contractors, and every person who continues to give their time, energy, skill, and heart to help build our families, communities, and nation.

Today, we celebrate not only the work that is seen, but also the silent sacrifices that often go unnoticed. We salute every hardworking person who keeps going, keeps providing, keeps serving, and keeps believing in a better tomorrow.

May this Labour Day remind us that every honest contribution matters, every worker deserves respect, and when we stand together in unity, great things can happen.

Happy Labour Day from Sisters Uplifting Sisters.

Strong workers. Strong families. Stronger communities. Stronger Trinidad and Tobago.

🌺 Indian Arrival Day Greetings from Sisters Uplifting Sisters 🌺

Today, we pause in deep respect and reflection as we commemorate Indian Arrival Day, a significant moment in the history of Trinidad and Tobago.

On May 30, 1845, the Fatel Razack arrived on our shores carrying the first Indian indentured labourers. Their journey was one marked by uncertainty, hardship, sacrifice, courage, and resilience. Though they came under difficult circumstances, their strength, faith, determination, and perseverance helped shape the foundation of the nation we proudly call home today.

We honor the memory of our ancestors and acknowledge the invaluable contributions of the Indian community to Trinidad and Tobago’s culture, agriculture, education, business, religion, cuisine, family values, and national development.

Indian Arrival Day is more than a celebration. It is a reminder of endurance, identity, heritage, and the power of people to rise above adversity and leave a legacy for generations to come.

As Sisters Uplifting Sisters, we extend heartfelt greetings to all citizens of Trinidad and Tobago, especially those of Indian heritage, as we continue to embrace unity, respect, gratitude, and love for the diverse cultures that make our nation beautiful.

May we always remember the sacrifices of those who came before us, honor their legacy with dignity, and continue building a future rooted in togetherness.

Happy Indian Arrival Day Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹✨

With love,
Sisters Uplifting Sisters 💜
