We, the Rastafari community in Trinidad and Tobago, have solemnly resolved to constitute ourselves into a socio-cultural association for the lofty and sacred mission of encouraging and promoting the much neglected but highly significant cause of uniting, and organizing ourselves as a dynamic socio-cultural group. Our main goal is to ensure our cultural identity and welfare in Trinidad and Tobago;
and by extension, internationally. The Association shall be formed, staffed, run and governed by members of the Rastafari community, who are committed to the ultimate objective of advocating, serving, and promoting the socio- cultural and educational needs and well-being of the Rastafari community, with focus on security, liberty, social justice, equality, dignity, human rights, progress, and human development. The continuing neglect of and need especially for socio-cultural facilities, proper cultural-oriented education, language learning and job training in the Rastafari community have affected to some extent their successful participation and contribution to society at large. The Association shall endeavour to research, gather and exchange information on Rastafari heritage; and, seek to study and explore the community’s manifold problems in all spheres of life, with a view to disseminating its proper awareness and understanding for a needful amelioration and settlement in the community’s larger interest. Membership in the association shall include anyone who has an interest in Rastafari heritage and is willing to join and contribute to the progress of the Association. See notes for more membership information.
