The U Make Me Smile Organisation Continuous School and Vocational Skill program is an ambitious educational project designed to contribute to the transformation of the reality of a self-perpetuating underdevelopment which has a stranglehold on the region in Trinidad and Tobago . It seeks to reverse this repetitive cycle through a human development which includes:

A change of attitude, leaving be

hind the conformist excuses for understanding and to development and assuming (to receive or adopt) personal responsibility towards academic performance. Building skills, a learning process relevant to the vocational skill program and based on socio-economic development problems in the community. The research, experimentation and development of processes and products complement the technical knowledge and critical thinking capable of influencing public policy, of planning, debate and negotiation. Creating opportunity, in order to reduce the brain drain of skilled human resources and to contribute to overcoming the socioeconomic stagnation (the cessation of action or of brisk action). The U Make Me Smile Organisation educational project consists of four programs:

PBL Laboratory. Changing the concept of Education
Problem Based Learning focused on our nation youth development issues through on-site investigation, building proposals and applying solutions at the ground-level. Change in eating habits
A basic cornerstone in human development. The program includes nutrition training and workshops, medical checkups and monitoring and the planting, processing and consumption of vegetables, fruits, proteins and grains. Awakening the inner power

Integrated development includes:
Performing and Visual Arts and Skills:
music, dance, theatre, painting, Food preparation, sewing, hairdressing, screen printing, air brush design, flower arrangements, IT and presentations. Sports:
competitive team sports, as well as individual disciplines to foment personal development. Academics:
English, Math, Creative Writing and Reading etc. as essential for communication and interaction. Mental Health:
includes attention to conflict and violence related trauma, conflict resolution and emotional maturity. Infrastructure Investment. Access to the means of achievement
The creation of opportunity depends largely on the availability of infrastructure resources, for the campus itself as well as capital expenditures. Our belief is that it is high time we level the playing field for young people no matter where they happen to live and that information technology is one of the primary tools to make that happen. Our project is (U.M.M.S) Continuous School and Vocational Skill Program Center for Integrated Development, in Port Of Spain Community, a Problem-Based Learning program with the objective of doing away with the barriers that entrap and perpetuate traditional cycles of poverty. Our students have tossed the textbooks aside to work with real-world issues, learn “basic subjects” as only as tools for problem-solving and are overcoming “being poor.”

Connecting ideas and sharing solutions with peers around the community will break the ever-repeating dynamic of marginalization and isolation. The U Make Me Smile Organisation Continuous School and Vocational Skill program is about Positive Attitude, Capacity Building and the Creation of Opportunity. Join with us in changing the community.
