Today we extend Corpus Christi greetings to the Roman Catholic Community and wider Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹.

This day commemorates the truth of the transubstantiation of the Holy Eucharist or bread and wine into the actual body and blood of Jesus Christ during mass.

It is known as a feast day which is celebrated on the first Thursday following Trinity Sunday which is the first Sunday after the day of Pentecost.

“Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. “ John 6:54-56

Corpus Christi Blessings to all 🙏🏾.

On Friday, 29th May 2026, Soroptimist International Club of Couva proudly hosted a Period Poverty Awareness initiative under the theme “Flow Without Fear” with the girls of Ezekiel’s Home for Abandoned Children.

The session was facilitated by Dr. Makayla Fraser, who led an engaging and interactive discussion on menstruation, menstrual health, and the importance of good menstrual hygiene practices. Through open dialogue and education, the girls were empowered with knowledge to better understand and manage their menstrual health with confidence and dignity.

As a token of support, each participant received a specially prepared goodie bag containing sanitary products and other essential items, reinforcing our commitment to helping young women and girls access the resources they need to thrive.

At Soroptimist International Club of Couva, we believe that no girl should be held back by her period. Through education, advocacy, and action, we continue to work toward a future where every girl can live, learn, and succeed—free from the barriers of period poverty.

Today, we proudly commemorate Indian Arrival Day, honoring the arrival of the first Indian indentured laborers to Trinidad and Tobago aboard the Fatel Razack on May 30, 1845.

As we reflect on this significant chapter of our nation’s history, we celebrate the resilience, courage, rich cultural heritage, and invaluable contributions of the Indo-Trinidadian community to the development of our society.

May this day inspire us to embrace our diversity, honor our shared history, and continue building a future rooted in unity, understanding, and respect.

Happy Indian Arrival Day! 🇹🇹

💚 MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH 💚

Mental health is just as important as physical health 🌟

This month, we stand in solidarity to raise awareness, encourage understanding, and remind everyone that seeking help is a sign of strength — not weakness.

Let us create spaces where people feel safe to speak, heal, and be supported without judgment. A simple conversation, a listening ear, or a kind gesture can make a meaningful difference.

✨ Prioritize your peace.
✨ Check in on your loved ones.
✨ Take time to rest and recharge.
✨ Remember: You are never alone.

Together, we can help break the stigma surrounding mental health and promote a culture of compassion, empathy, and support.
