Zidane Roopnarine, together with his colleagues from the International Department of the Beijing Dance Academy, had the esteemed opportunity to participate in an international conference with the Presidents of the Beijing Dance Academy, focusing on foreign affairs, international student collaboration, and cultural exchange initiatives. The conference also served as a platform for representing Trinidad and Tobago on the international stage.

Zidane Roopnarine had the esteemed honor of not only representing the International Department of the Beijing Dance Academy, but also Trinidad and Tobago, and by extension, the entire Caribbean at Beijing International Students Night 2025 with his now-celebrated choreography, Tamuševac 《塔牟歨坞》 “TAMBOO.”

This work embodies the vibrant spirit, cultural fusion, and rhythmic heartbeat of Trinidad and Tobago and the wider Caribbean, brought to life through his signature Caribbean folk choreography. “TAMBOO”, it has been showcased on numerous renowned stages, earning international recognition and deep appreciation for both Trinidad and Tobago and Caribbean culture.

A joyful and dynamic folk dance originating from Yunnan Province, China, known for its rhythm, footwork, and expressive storytelling. “Huādēng”celebrates community, festival culture, and the beauty of everyday life.
This piece features our very own Zidane Roopnarine, dancing alongside his colleagues in a beautiful reflection of Chinese cultural heritage. Zidane continues to inspire us through his dedication to Chinese culture, dance and his ongoing artistic journey in Beijing.
