Founded in 1999 by long-standing, kind-hearted representative, Kassie Seetaram, the Sixth Formers' Association Services (S.F.A.S.) is a non-profitable, non-governmental, charitable organisation that offers free tutoring classes to slow learners, as well as kids who cannot afford extra lessons, during the July-August and December vacation period. Classes are available for both primary and secondary
school students (Standard One through Form Five). Usually Sixth Former's Association Services have an in person tutoring program but as of late with the COVID19 Pandemic, we have shifted to an online activities platform to ensure true volunteerism work is done amongst SFAS centers around Trinidad. The organisation recruits all willing personnel who are at least at the sixth form level of secondary education to provide this service. The online Volunteer program consists of 2 phases. Phase 1 from Sept to Dec
Phase 2 from Jan to March
During these phases tutors can earn volunteer hours, for various activities proposed by SFAS, these activities can range from attending webinars, creating presentations on topics within Trinidad or Globally or educating their peers on topics
SFAS does not focus solely on academics, but rather attempts to achieve holistic development in each child, through various activities such as exercise, media engagement, interaction and a between tutors and committee members
