The grace of pilgrimage isnโ€™t only found before an altar or sacred site.

It is also found around a dinner table. On a long bus ride. In shared laughter. In an unexpected conversation. In the person who began the journey as a stranger and somehow became family.

This is part of what makes a

Yes, we journey to encounter God in sacred places, in the Eucharist, in prayer and in the footsteps of the saints. But God also waits for us in one another.

Our Mexico pilgrims came from different walks of life, carrying different stories, personalities, ages and experiences. Many barely knew each other or did not know each other at all. And then something beautiful happened along the road.

Strangers became companions.
Companions became friends.
And friends began to feel like family.

Between churches and holy sites were meals shared around tables, sightseeing, jokes that will probably never make sense to anyone outside the group, long conversations, tired moments, spontaneous laughter and simply the joy of being together. Because Christian fellowship is holy too.

That spirit is intentionally woven into CTC pilgrimages. We believe pilgrimage should deepen not only our relationship with God, but also our capacity to see, love and encounter our brothers and sisters in Christ.

One of pilgrimage's most unexpected miracles is discovering that God sometimes places the most unexpected people on the same road.

This is pilgrimage too: faith, family, friendship, laughter, community and the joy of discovering Christ in the people walking beside us.

As our pilgrimage carried us from Mexico City to Puebla, there was a growing awareness that our journey was beginning to turn toward home. But pilgrimage teaches us that returning home is not the same as going back.

At Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, we encountered the remarkable story of a wooden image of Our Lady discovered within a hollow tree amidst fire and how, after being taken from her chapel, she miraculously returned, again and again.

There was something profoundly fitting in that story as our own pilgrimage approached its end: Mary always leads us to where we are meant to be, and ultimately, she leads us to Christ.

In an intimate, antique chapel dedicated to Our Lady, we celebrated a deeply moving Mass. Reflecting together on the Gospel, each pilgrim began to name the blessings, encounters and graces received along this road. Then we could begin to see how much the journey had changed us.

We came to Mexico carrying intentions, questions, burdens and hopes. We walked sacred ground, knelt before holy altars, encountered stories of miracles and saints, and entrusted ourselves again and again to the maternal care of Mary. But the greatest miracle of pilgrimage may be what God quietly does within the pilgrim.

The journey eventually ends. The suitcase is repacked. The pilgrim returns home. But we do not return as we came.

We return renewed.
We return grateful.
We return carrying grace.
And we return with a responsibility to live differently because of what we have encountered.

The miles may soon end, but the real pilgrimage is only beginning - the lifelong journey of allowing every grace received to draw us closer to Christ.

๐ŸŒน Our Lady, keep us beneath your mantle and lead us always to your Son.

Pilgrimages help to reveal the kind of disciples we are being called to become.

At the historic Temple of San Francisco, we celebrated Holy Mass during the 800th Centenary Franciscan Jubilee (1226โ€“2026), walking spiritually with St. Francis and learning again the freedom found in simplicity, peace and total surrender to Christ.

At the Shrine of Blessed Miguel Pro, we encountered another expression of that surrender: courage. A priest who risked everything to bring Christ and the Sacraments to his people, and who faced death forgiving his persecutors and proclaiming, โ€œยกViva Cristo Rey!โ€. Our pilgrims received the extraordinary grace of being blessed by Fr. Mikkel with a first-class relic of Blessed Miguel Pro, a powerful reminder that holiness is something we are called to live.

And before the shrine of Blessed Conchita, wife, mother, mystic and spiritual mother to priests, we discovered yet another face of holiness: the quiet offering of an ordinary life completely given to God. There we carried our own intentions, and those entrusted to us, into prayer for priests, families and everyone we love!

Three sacred places. Three very different lives. One invitation.

Francis taught us to SURRENDER.
Miguel Pro taught us to BE COURAGEOUS.
Conchita taught us to MAKE OUR EVERYDAY LIVES AN OFFERING.

The true journey of the pilgrim is always inward until that inner conversion becomes a new way of living outward.

A pilgrimage is a journey that asks us to become different people along the way.

Yesterday brought that truth into focus as we walked among the ancient pyramids and ruins of Teotihuacan; a place that bears witness to a civilization, a culture, and a people whose world would one day undergo extraordinary change.

Our journey then brought us to the Chapel of the Fifth Apparition of Our Lady of Guadalupe, a place of Our Ladyโ€™s appearance to Juan Bernardino, the uncle of Saint Juan Diego, and his miraculous healing.

These two places tell, in very different ways, a story of change.

The stones of Teotihuacan remind us that civilizations rise, worlds change, and what once seemed permanent can be transformed. At Guadalupe, that transformation becomes deeply personal. A sick man is healed. A humble indigenous man becomes a messenger of the Mother of God. And through those encounters, the spiritual landscape of an entire people is changed.

This is the revolutionary nature of pilgrimage.
We do not leave home simply to see something different. We leave so that, through grace, we might become different.

Perhaps that is why pilgrimage requires movement. The miles beneath our feet become an outward sign of the movement God desires within our souls.

The pilgrim never journeys merely to arrive at a holy place. The pilgrim journeys so that God may make the heart itself a holy place.

๐ŸŒน Our Lady of Guadalupe, transform our hearts and lead us always to your Son.
๐ŸŒน Saint Juan Diego, teach us to walk as pilgrims of faith.

Every pilgrimage has a destination. But those destinations become encounters that change the journey forever.

Today our pilgrim journey brought us to Tepeyac, where Our Lady appeared to Saint Juan Diego nearly five centuries ago and spoke the words that still echo in the hearts of her children:

โ€œAm I not here, I who am your Mother?โ€

We visited both the old and new Basilicas and were blessed to celebrate a private Sunday Mass with Fr. Mikkel in the Chapel of Saint Joseph. One by one, our pilgrims processed to the altar carrying the written petitions entrusted to us by family and friends back home.

Every name. Every intention. Every burden and hope, we carried with us and placed before God, beneath the mantle of Our Lady.

Then came a moment difficult to put into words: standing before the original Tilma of Saint Juan Diego, gazing upon the miraculous image of Our Lady of Guadalupe that has drawn generations of pilgrims to this sacred place.

Our journey continued up Tepeyac Hill, where we visited the humble hermitage of Saint Juan Diego and lit candles for our families and loved ones, entrusting them once again to Mary's maternal care.

This is the mystery of pilgrimage: we leave home thinking we are the ones making the journey, only to discover along the way that God is changing the pilgrim.

Today we came to Tepeyac searching for Our Lady, and perhaps we discovered that a Mother had been waiting for her children all along.

๐ŸŒน Our Lady of Guadalupe, pray for us.
๐ŸŒน Saint Juan Diego, pray for us.

This pilgrimage is a journey of grace, one in which Our Lady goes before us, preparing the way and drawing us ever closer to her Son.

How fitting, then, that the first day of our pilgrimage through Mexico began on the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, celebrating the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass in a Cathedral dedicated to this very mystery of Our Lady.

By a grace we could never have planned, we were placed at the Main High Altar for Mass. And because the Assumption holds such a place of honor in this Archdiocese, the clergy are vested in Marian blue for the feast; a beautiful local tradition honouring Mary, our Mother, assumed body and soul into the glory of Heaven.

There are moments on pilgrimage when what seems like coincidence begins to feel much more like providence.

To begin beneath the mantle of Our Lady, on her great feast, before an altar raised in her honour, was a beautiful reminder of what pilgrimage truly is: we set out with an itinerary, but God writes the journey.

And Mary, as every good Mother does, leads her children to Jesus.

Our Lady of the Assumption, pray for us.
Our Lady of Guadalupe, guide our pilgrimage and lead us ever closer to your Son. ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡ฝ

Last weekend at ๐™Ž๐™ฅ๐™ž๐™ง๐™ž๐™ฉ & ๐™‡๐™ž๐™ข๐™š reminded us that the Church is at her best when she is on the move.

Jesus rarely waited for people to come to Him. He walked the roads. He sat at tables. He entered homes. He met people in the ordinary places of life, speaking to hearts before speaking to crowds. His command was never "wait for everyone to come". It was โ€œGo and tell everyone." (Mark 16:15)

That was the heartbeat of ๐‘ผ๐‘ต๐‘ญ๐‘ฐ๐‘ณ๐‘ป๐‘ฌ๐‘น๐‘ฌ๐‘ซ.

Not a lecture. Not a performance. Not surface-level conversation.

Just real young people, real young adults, real questions, real struggles, real hope and the freedom to have honest, deep, unfiltered conversations about mental health, faith, purpose, relationships, identity, suffering, and what it truly means to follow Christ in today's world.

Around tables instead of pews.
In Toppers, instead of a parish hall.
Not because the Church is changing her message, but because she is following the example of Christ; going out to find His people where they are.

This is what a missionary Church looks like.

A Church that listens before it speaks.
A Church that accompanies before it instructs.
A Church that is not afraid to step outside its walls because it knows the Gospel belongs everywhere.

Our young people deserve spaces where difficult questions are welcomed, where vulnerability is met with compassion, and where the light of Christ shines into the realities they live every day.

Thank you to every young person who came with an open heart, every person who courageously shared their story, and everyone who helped make this evening possible.

The conversation doesn't end here.

We will continue to go.
We will continue to listen.
We will continue to meet young people where they are.
And together, we will continue to point them to the One who first came looking for us.

"Go into all the world and proclaim the Gospel to the whole creation." - Mark 16:15

Today, we give thanks to God for the precious gift of our shepherd, Fr. Mikkel.

Father, your life is a quiet "yes" to Christ, the Good Shepherd, who called you not simply to lead, but to walk among His flock, carrying the weary, seeking the lost, strengthening the weak, and pointing every soul toward Heaven.

Thank you for pouring yourself out at the altar, for feeding us with the Bread of Life, for speaking truth with love, and for reminding us, by your own witness, that holiness is possible. Through your faithful "yes," Christ continues to shepherd His people with tenderness and mercy.

As you celebrate another year of life, may the Chief Shepherd, who first called your name, renew your heart, deepen your joy, strengthen your hands for the work of the Gospel, and reward every hidden sacrifice made in love for His people.

Happy Birthday, Father. May Our Lady keep you beneath her mantle, and may the Lord continue to make you a shepherd after His own Heart. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿปโœ๏ธ

Happy Fatherโ€™s Day to all fathers, grandfathers, godfathers, spiritual fathers, mentors, coaches, teachers, and the countless men who faithfully help shape lives and strengthen communities.

Today we celebrate the vocation of fatherhood in all its forms. Fatherhood is a sacred reflection of God the Father's love, protection, guidance, and sacrifice.

We give thanks for the men who restore hope, build strong families, nurture faith, serve the vulnerable, and walk alongside others with courage and compassion.

At the heart of our mission is the belief that when fathers and father figures are healed, strengthened, and supported, families flourish, communities thrive, and future generations are transformed.

May St. Joseph, guardian of the Holy Family, intercede for all men called to spiritual and physical fatherhood.

Happy Father's Day. Thank you for being a living witness of God's love.
