Last night Marga called, she had seen a calico cat with a fishing hook wrapped around his leg by the Zeus otel. Jobey and I went to look for her. We couldn't see her so we walked along the front asking restaurants if they had seen her. Walking down we saw Kenan, he told us there was a cat with a fish hook on the roof above the Can restaurant. So we went to look. Kenan showed us where she was but she wasn't there. Then we noticed another cat we had been after with an injured leg. His mouth also looked dirty. We tried to tempt him to us but we didn't have much luck. So Jobey went off to get the trap whilst I kept an eye on the cat. Kenan asked the chef at the Can if I could have some Salami. With the salami the cat and I were getting closer but not close enough.
Jobey came back with the trap three quarters of an hour later we had the cat safely in a cat box in the car.
Tarık said he had seen the cat with the fish hook and she comes around at eight o'clock. We waited but unfortunately she didn't come.
Jobey dropped me at home and then took Cloudy to the quarantine room.
Just after I got in Barbara messaged saying two dogs had frightened a cat up the tree and it has been crying for ages. She was also concerned that the family of 6 kittens by the side of the Diplomat had disappeared, she was worried the dogs had frightened them off. These kittens have been fed and looked after by hotel staff, Gabby and Akin, one of the neighbours and also Sinem was going up feeding them. So we haven't had any concerns for their welfare. They look really healthy and are playful and are cared for where they are.
When we got there the dogs had gone, and the cat had made his escape. We saw the brown dog trying to get to a cat whilst we were trying to catch Cloudy. He was after a cat but a man at one of the shops stood between the cat and the dog, in the end the dog walked away.
We then looked for the kittens. Two of them were huddled up to Dede. Dede is a very big unneutered cat, and is responsible for a lot of the cats around there. But he is impossible to catch. Jobey and I have been trying for years. He goes to the trap and lays down at the entrance but will not go in. Then he stops other cats from going in. We have become very fond of Dede.
We looked around for a while then went back. Sinem was feeding the two kittens we saw.
Barbara messaged me this morning and thankfully she has seen all 6 kittens this morning.
Cloody is now in the vets along with Peri, the Perios cat, and Broody who may have another tooth problem.
We will have another look for the cat with the fish hook this afternoon.
