Bilimsel düşüncenin ışığında evreni anlamaya çalışan büyük fizikçi Stephen Hawking’in sözleri, insanlığın bilgi arayışının gücünü hatırlatıyor. Hawking, evrenin doğasını anlamanın yolunun bilimden geçtiğini savunarak şu ifadeleri kullanmıştı:
“Bilimi anlamaya başlamadan önce, Tanrı’nın evreni yarattığına inanmamız doğaldı. Fakat artık bilim çok daha ikna edici bir açıklama sunuyor. ‘Tanrı’nın aklını okuyabileceğiz’ sözüyle kastettiğim, eğer bir Tanrı olsaydı – ki yok – onun bilebileceği her şeyi bilebileceğimizdi. Ben ateistim.”

International Blasphemy Day - Freedom Picnics

This time, we are organizing our traditional picnics to celebrate International Blasphemy Day. To once again remember and remind everyone that what the system labels as “blasphemy” under the influence of religious dominance is, in fact, merely a pretext for attacking freedom of expression!
The sanctity of belief systems is only for believers, and everyone else is free to openly express their opinions. This is neither an insult nor blasphemy!
For this reason, as the Association of Atheism Turkey, we invite all freedom-loving free-thinkers to join us on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at simultaneous picnics in Istanbul and Ankara. Come, sip our tea, and let’s lay out the ideas branded as “insults” on the table.
No registration, no tickets; just the scent of simit and uncensored conversation!
To our supporters abroad and in other cities, don’t feel left out. We’re also holding a virtual Meet-Up on the same day.
All local and foreign non-believers are invited to this event, which we are organizing together with Humanists International and Atheist Alliance International.
