United Nations Volunteers (UNV), as one of the leading global actors in advancing, recognising, and strengthening volunteerism worldwide, provides an important international reference point for understanding how volunteering contributes to development, public services, and social transformation. Dr Tapiwa Kamuruko, Chief of the Volunteer Advisory Services Section, and Emiliya Asadova, Policy Specialist on Evidence at United Nations Volunteers (UNV), will explore how volunteering can be measured using both quantitative and qualitative methods, in light of the 2026 World Volunteering Report.
The webinar will address why volunteering should be measured and how this can be done through hours, participation ratios, and economic value approaches, while also examining qualitative dimensions such as individual development, social trust, and solidarity. Drawing on examples from different countries, the session will explain how volunteering can become a more visible, credible, and policy-relevant field.
It is open to everyone and is completely free, including a certificate of participation.
