Kuzguncuk is one of Istanbul’s most charming neighborhoods, known for its colorful houses, peaceful streets, and multicultural heritage. Located along the Bosphorus on the Asian side, it offers a calm and authentic atmosphere away from the city’s rush.

According to legend, a king was told that his daughter would die from a snake bite. To protect her, he built a tower in the middle of the sea and kept her there, far from danger.

But fate found its way. A snake hidden inside a basket of fruit reached the princess, and the prophecy came true.

Today, the Maiden’s Tower stands as one of Istanbul’s most poetic symbols, carrying a story of love, fate and mystery.

Dr. Cemil Hakan Kılıç, General Manager of Istanbul Convention & Visitors Bureau, attended WTM Latin America in São Paulo, engaging with global industry stakeholders and exploring key trends shaping the future of tourism.

During the visit, Dr. Kılıç also met with Özgür Uludüz, the Consul General of Türkiye in São Paulo, strengthening institutional ties and reinforcing Istanbul’s international presence.

As ICVB, we had the opportunity to explore the exhibition floor in depth, including a visit to the Cappadocia stand, highlighting Türkiye’s diverse and compelling destination offering.

Dr. Kılıç also took part in a panel session at the Transformation Stage, moderated by Jaqueline Gil (Brazil), alongside Loretta Bellato (Australia) and Thiago Allis (Brazil).

The session highlighted how cultural heritage continues to drive tourism demand, with Istanbul presented as a leading case. The example of the Hünkar (Sultan’s) Pavilion illustrated how historic venues can evolve into dynamic spaces for culture, tourism, and events—bridging past and present in meaningful ways.

As Istanbul Convention & Visitors Bureau, we are pleased to take part in the Bologna Children’s Book Fair 2026, one of the leading international events dedicated to children’s publishing and content. 📝📕🌍

Türkiye’s participation at the fair was organised in cooperation with the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ICOC) and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye. 🇹🇷

During the fair, we welcomed visitors at our desk and engaged with international publishers, authors, and industry professionals, while also highlighting Istanbul’s role as a vibrant hub for culture, creativity, and international exchange.

ICOC (Istanbul Chamber of Commerce) delegation included ICOC Board Member Münir Üstün and ICOC Board Member and ICVB President Bahadır Yaşık. The programme also brought together distinguished representatives, including Esin Zeynep Selvi, Cultural and Promotion Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Rome.

Throughout the event, meetings with global publishing professionals provided valuable insights into the latest trends in children’s publishing and opened new avenues for international collaboration within Türkiye’s creative industries.

A Turkish brand in London hosted an inspiring celebration of design and creativity! 🇹🇷🌍💫

The Table Design Exhibition took place on April 10–12, 2026 at The Savoy Hotel, in partnership with RSVP Club, bringing together nearly 250 participants from over 20 countries in collaboration with Turkish Airlines.

Under the theme “Art of Design & Art of Business”, the London edition presented magical table designs inspired by iconic artists such as Van Gogh, Osman Hamdi Bey, and Matisse, where each designer reinterpreted art through their own creative lens.

The final day featured high-level B2B meetings with some of the world’s leading luxury hotels, alongside insightful panels with renowned designers & founders shaping the global wedding and luxury events industry.

Representing Istanbul, ICVB took the stage with the panel “Where Two Worlds Meet: The Art of the Mosaic”, featuring Meltem Tepeler, Founder of KM Events and Table Design Exhibition, Johnny Roxburgh, Founder of JRD, and James Lord, Founder of RSVP Club. 🧿

The discussion highlighted Istanbul’s enchanting & strong position in the luxury events and wedding industry, with speakers sharing first-hand experiences from events they organized in the city.

From its seamless infrastructure to its exceptional service standards, Istanbul continues to inspire as a destination where history, creativity, culture and world-class event delivery come together 💪🏼

ICVB took part in the Go Türkiye Destination Promotion Event held at Türkevi in New York, organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA), and Turkish Airlines.

Representing ICVB, our Board Member and TÜROB (Hotel Association of Türkiye) President Müberra Eresin, General Manager Dr. Cemil Hakan Kılıç and Deputy General Manager Dr. İlkay Çapraz Şalabi attended the event, which also brought together representatives from TÜROB, Turkish Airlines, hotels, travel agencies, DMCs, tour operators, and media from Türkiye and the United States.

As part of the program, Dr. Cemil Hakan Kılıç delivered a presentation highlighting Istanbul’s diverse tourism potential, rich cultural heritage, and strong position in the global meetings and events industry.

The event provided a valuable platform for B2B meetings, destination promotion, and strengthening international collaboration across the tourism sector.
