Emergency Aid in Syria
The Crisis
March 15th 2011, men, women and children of Syriya began protesting against the oppressive Baath regime that has been ruling the country with an iron fist for 48 years. The Syrian citizens continue to fight for their freedom and stand united in doing so. In addition to the daily

deaths and those injured, confirmed reports have emerged of horrific crimes against civilians, which include the use of r**e as a weapon of war, and the assaults against mosques, hospitals and schools. Children are living under the distress of war as well as being witness to murder and r**e. Many are orphaned and will suffer from long term psychological traumas. A death toll of over11,046 so far, not including those kidnapped or injured has been reported since the 15th March. In addition more than 1,500,000 people have been displaced, due to the continuous unrest with many fleeing into less tension cities like Damascus and Aleppo, neighboring countries, such as Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan and other Arab countries like Egypt and Libya. Families in temporary camps in Hatay, Turkey and other places have been witness to horrific incidents of torture and sexual assault as well as being witness to murders and raps by the Asad regime. Following the brutal attacks on civilians in Syria, Syrian field hospitals were in grave need of medical supplies. Due to the Asad’s government not supplying food or medications, we struggle to fundraise and provide food and medical aid to Syrian cities with an estimated value of $33.2 million monthly. Who we are

Syrian Society for Humanitarian Aid and Development (SY-DER) is a humanitarian non-profit organization that provides emergency relief to Syria and all Syrian refugees in neighboring countries. Set up in response to the ongoing large scale crisis to focus on providing goods and services that minimize the immediate risk to Syrian health and survival. SY-DER's team provide their time on a pro-bono basis, where all donations go directly to the relief effort. SY-DER plans to address issues of development aid, post crisis conditions. SY-DER is committed to ensuring transparency and accountability, and commits to channeling all the funds donated to the relief effort by streamlining the running costs including hiring only volunteers. As supplies continue to come in, we continue fundraising to accommodate the costs involved in the haulage of humanitarian goods and medical supplies to wherever it is needed. Our Mission
A team consisting of professionals dedicated to working solely in the provision of relief and the reduction of suffering of Syrian victims during this crucial time, under the supervision of the Syrian National Council. Our Objectives
To focus on providing goods and services to reduce the immediate suffering and risk of Syrians health and survival. To aid in serving the needs of the most vulnerable and neglected victims of the current Syrian emergency. To protect lives from physical injury or death and/or psychological trauma. To network with other relief agencies working in the humanitarian system to coordinate and establish a process of continual improvement. To ensure our volunteers understand the risks and dangers of the missions they carry out and make no claims for themselves for any compensation. To work as a social network that encourages operational coordination across institutional lines. To strive to achieve our social purpose and mission in providing goods and services where required.
