🏆 Six Turkish municipalities clinch the European Label of Governance Excellence (ELoGE) for 2023-24!

Awarded by Türkiye's National Platform, led by the Argüden Governance Academy, these municipalities (including Ankara and Eskişehir 🇹🇷) demonstrated commitment to good governance. 🌐

🗓️ On Dec 14, 2023, the prestigious announcement took place at Altınbaş Üniversitesi, featuring speakers from the Council of Europe, ALDA and more.

🤝 ELoGE symbolises a culture of good governance in local governments, emphasising transparency and citizen participation. Mayors pledged accountability and shared best practices.

The School of Participatory Democracy kicked off in Istanbul (🇹🇷)!

Co - organised by the Council of Europe and hosted by the Istanbul Citizens’ Assembly and the Argüden Governance Academy, the event was a fruitful opportunity for 22 representatives of Turkish local authorities and civil society organisations to learn about the Council of Europe participatory democracy standards and tools. 📢🗳

Participants learnt about specific tools issued by the Council of Europe, such as tools to assess the readiness of a community to participate and to effectively map a community of stakeholders (Civil Participation in Decision-Making Toolkit). 👥

On this occasion Anna Ditta, ALDA Head of Programs and Development Unit, delivered an interesting training to introduce the concept of participatory democracy and the key principles of participation. 🗣
