The “2nd Balkan Turkish Community Gathering”, organised by the IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, was hosted by the Governor of Edirne, Mr Yunus Sezer, and attended by the Speaker of the 29th , and under the coordination of Osman Atalay, a member of the IHH Board of Trustees who developed and managed the event concept, with the participation of Mariglen Shehi, IHH’s Balkans Representative.

The gathering, attended by approximately 23 representatives from Bulgaria, Romania and Western Thrace in Greece, addressed the common issues facing the Turkish communities living in the Balkans and proposed solutions.

Organised with the aim of strengthening solidarity and cooperation among Turkish communities living in the Balkans, the programme was attended by representatives of the Turkish community, civil society organisation leaders, academics, educators, media representatives and delegates active in various fields.

We provided cash assistance in Dilling, a city in South Kordofan located near conflict zones where humanitarian access is difficult.

Through distributions in the Akuz, Tumat and Safa neighbourhoods, we provided 512 people with cash assistance. This support aims to help families affected by the conflict to meet their most urgent needs.
