🔴 Trade Union Activists Detained by the Pirate State of Israel: The Attack on the Sumud Flotilla Is an Act of Lawlessness and Piracy

🔴 The terror state of Israel has once again targeted international law, human rights, and the common conscience of humanity by intervening against the Global Sumud Flotilla, which carries the voice of human conscience in international waters approximately 1,200 km away from Gaza.

This intervention against the Global Sumud Flotilla, which set out to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza and to show solidarity with the Palestinian people struggling to survive under Israel’s blockade, cannot be justified under any circumstances.

🔴This attack against civilians, humanitarian volunteers, trade union representatives, and human rights defenders in international waters is a clear act of lawlessness and piracy.

✊️As the ILC, we state clearly:
Delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza is not a crime.
✊️Opposing the blockade is not a crime.
✊️Defending the right to life of civilians is not a crime.
Detaining activists who represent the conscience of humanity in international waters is a grave violation of law.

🔵 MAY 1- INTERNATIONAL WORKERS’ DAY Declaration

“No Crisis Shall Be Turned into a Pretext for Stripping Workers of Their Rights”

🔵 May 1 is not merely a date on the calendar.

🔵 May 1 is the name of the historic struggle waged by workers against exploitation, oppression, inequality, and the violation of rights.

✊️ May 1 is the dignity of labour.

✊️ May 1 is the will of solidarity.

✊️ May 1 is the memory, resistance, and future of labour.

🔴 None of the rights enjoyed by workers today were granted as a favour.

World Day for Safety and Health at Work
Safe and Healthy Work Is a Fundamental Right of Every Worker, Not a Cost Item

Today, on 28 April, World Day for Safety and Health at Work, we honour with deep respect the memory of all workers across the world who have lost their lives as a result of occupational accidents, work-related diseases, and precarious working conditions. Their loss is not only the grief of their families, but also a shared sorrow for the entire world of labour. This sorrow also strengthens our responsibility to struggle for a safer, healthier, and more just world of work.

🔴 Genocide Cannot Be Given a Legal Cover ! The World Must Not Remain Silent..

There is no end to Israel’s crimes, brutality, and systematic oppression against the Palestinian people. Every instrument of destruction has been used against them; even hunger has been turned into a weapon of war. Yet this, too, has not been enough.

As the International Labour Confederation, we state this in the clearest possible terms: the death penalty is incompatible with human dignity, cannot be justified in the name of justice, and must never be legitimized under any circumstances. When introduced in conditions of occupation, shaped by discriminatory intent, and designed to target Palestinians alone, this is no longer merely a legal matter. It is the attempted normalization of an institutionalized regime of cruelty.

🔴 No system that punishes a people on the basis of their identity can ever claim legitimacy.

🔴 Neither history nor conscience will absolve this cruelty.

ILC Leadership Meets with CGM-UGSR and SINDALIMENTA in Bucharest

Ali Yalçın, President of the International Labour Confederation (ILC), and Hamza Öksüz, Secretary General of the ILC, met in Bucharest, the capital of Romania, with representatives of CGM-UGSR and SINDALIMENTA, both member organizations of the ILC.

The meeting was attended by board members, trade union leaders, and organizational representatives from CGM-UGSR and SINDALIMENTA. Discussions focused on the increasingly severe challenges faced by workers worldwide, particularly the erosion of social rights, the deepening effects of geopolitical instability, growing economic inequalities, and the urgent need for coordinated public policies that protect labour and human dignity.

At this meeting held in Bucharest, the ILC once again reaffirmed its determination to strengthen global labour solidarity, deepen cooperation, and advance a labour-centred common vision placing social justice, peace, and democratic dignity at its core.

International Women’s Day Declaration
8 March is a reminder.
8 March is a day of solidarity.
8 March is a call to struggle.
International Women’s Day symbolizes the centuries-long struggle of women for rights, justice, and a life worthy of human dignity.

We honour with respect and solidarity all women who have suffered under wars, conflicts, and crises, and we salute those who, even in the face of overwhelming adversity, refused to surrender and continued their struggle with courage to the very end.

The Crisis of Social Justice in the Age of Wealth

Hamza Öksüz
Secretary General, International Labour Confederation (ILC)

Today’s world has reached an unprecedented level of economic capacity, generating wealth on a scale never before witnessed in human history. Yet at the same time, millions remain trapped in precarious employment, billions lack adequate social protection, and inequality continues to deepen. This contradiction is not accidental; it is directly linked to how global economic transformation is governed. Despite the strong rhetorical commitment to social justice across international platforms, its persistent absence reveals a fundamental reality: the problem is not merely one of implementation, but of policy orientations that fail to confront the structural roots of inequality. In this sense, World Social Justice Day should not be understood merely as a symbolic moment of awareness, but as an opportunity to critically examine why social justice remains unrealized...

Speaking at the International Occupational Health & Safety Seminar organizes by the SNC in Riyadh, ILC Secretary General Hamza Öksüz emphasized that OHS is not a technical formality, but a core pillar of social justice, decent work, and labour rights.
