🎉 After 27 months of collaboration since 2024, the Cyber Safe Senior project (2023-1-PL01-KA220-ADU-000160325) has come to a successful close.
🤝 With partners from Poland, Slovenia, Greece, and Türkiye, we set out to raise seniors’ awareness of online safety, reduce digital exclusion, and prepare educators to teach cybersecurity effectively. The project was structured around seven work packages, each with a distinct aim and tangible outputs.
📘 WP2 aimed to create engaging, accessible educational materials. It produced an e-book with 25 real-life case studies covering common cyber threats, accompanied by 5 videos illustrating risks and responses and 5 interactive quizzes. All materials were made available in five languages and received an internal success rate of 88.38%.
🧑🏫 WP3 developed a training program for adult educators. Its aim was to give trainers the knowledge and methods to teach about online safety. The result is a 5-module program (cybersecurity basics, common scams, online banking and shopping safety, safe social media use, and safe digitalization) plus 10 IMPROV cases—simulation exercises that prepare educators to handle real-world scenarios.
🌍 WP4 delivered the Joint Staff Training in Ljubljana, Slovenia, bringing together 25 educators from all partner countries. The aim was to test the training program, exchange expertise, and build a community of trainers. Participants rated the experience 5/5, and their self-assessed knowledge increased from 5.81 to 8.96 on a 10-point scale. Post-test scores showed major improvements in identifying scams such as smishing, deepfakes, and public Wi-Fi risks.
💻 WP5 produced 10 virtual lessons, each designed for one hour of interactive learning. The aim was to offer engaging lessons that can be used in group settings or independently. Topics range from social media scams and privacy protection to phishing, smishing, financial fraud, and trust-based scams. Each lesson includes realistic scenarios, self-assessment checklists, and trainer tips.
👥 WP6 conducted pilot training for 157 participants across four countries. The aim was to test the virtual lessons in real educational settings and measure their impact. Pre- and post-training tests confirmed a significant increase in participants’ knowledge, and over 80% expressed high satisfaction with the courses.
📣 WP7 focused on dissemination and awareness. Through four information days for trainers and educational institutions, we reached 175 professionals, and through five demonstration workshops we engaged more than 125 participants, bringing the total campaign reach to over 300 people.
🌐 All outputs—the e-book, training program, virtual lessons, videos, and quizzes—are now available free of charge in five languages on the project’s e-learning platform. Educational institutions, trainers, and organizations are invited to use, adapt, and share them.
