WATAN is a leading Civil Society Organization delivering emergency relief, third sector support and long-term international development projects. We operate several integrated programs with the aim of addressing humanitarian emergency response and sustainable community revival through holistic and transformative approach. We believe in the role of Civil Society in the various pha

ses of intervention. Thus, we invest in supporting and developing Civil Society in our areas of reach. We also create platforms for coordination and integration to maximize impact on communities served. To achieve our goal, we seek to be the preferred partner for international agencies in areas of specialization and reach. WATAN was established in 2012 as a framework merging number organizations and groups that had extensive community development work going back to 2006. We deliver program that rebuild lives and maintain community social cohesion by providing transformative programs in reliefs, post-conflict-peace-building, education, economic empowerment, advocacy and development of strong Civil Society.

ضمن أنشطة مشروع “تنمية الاقتصاد الريفي عبر التعاونية الزراعية”، نفّذت وطن في بلدة قسطون مبادرة تطوعية لتنظيف البلدة بالتعاون مع المجلس المحلي والأهالي، إلى جانب ترحيل أكوام القمامة المحيطة بمياه السد، بهدف تحسين الواقع البيئي وتعزيز التماسك المجتمعي في المنطقة.

As part of the activities of the “Developing the Rural Economy through the Agricultural Cooperative” project, Watan implemented a volunteer initiative in the town of Qastoun to clean the town in cooperation with the local council and local residents, in addition to removing piles of garbage surrounding the dam water, with the aim of improving the environmental situation and strengthening social cohesion in the area.

As part of WATAN’s efforts to support sheep breeders, the mobile veterinary clinics continue to provide their services across the project areas by conducting health examinations, carrying out necessary laboratory tests, and implementing regular vaccination campaigns. These efforts contribute to improving livestock health, limiting the spread of diseases, enhancing productivity, and supporting the sustainability of livelihoods for targeted households.

ضمن أنشطة مشروع التماسك المجتمعي، نفّذت وطن جلسات توعية في بلدة قسطون للسكان العائدين والمقيمين حول مخاطر مخلفات الحرب والأجسام غير المنفجرة، بهدف تعزيز الوعي بإجراءات السلامة والوقاية.

وتأتي هذه الجلسات تأكيدًا على أهمية عدم الاقتراب من أي جسم مشبوه والإبلاغ عنه فورًا، حفاظًا على سلامة الأهالي، وخاصة الأطفال.

As part of the Community Cohesion Project activities, WATAN conducted awareness sessions in the town of Qastoun for returning and resident populations on the dangers of war remnants and unexploded ordnance, with the aim of promoting awareness of safety and prevention measures.

These sessions emphasized the importance of avoiding any suspicious object and reporting it immediately, in order to protect the safety of residents, especially children.

Your safety is our priority… and awareness is the first line of defense.

As part of the community cohesion project implemented by WATAN in cooperation with AWO, a tree-planting activity was carried out in Qastoun with the active participation of local community members, children, and school students, aiming to strengthen the spirit of cooperation and community belonging.

This activity comes within WATAN’s efforts to support the reintegration of returnees and enhance community cohesion through joint initiatives that contribute to building trust among different segments of society.

As part of its ongoing efforts to support and advance institutional development, Watan continues to deliver specialized governance trainings for members of the Board of Directors of the Awassi Sheep Protection and Development Association. The trainings aim to strengthen administrative and organizational capacities, promote the principles of transparency and accountability, and enhance effective decision-making.

This training comes within Watan’s commitment to contributing to the development of more efficient and sustainable institutions, supporting the association’s growth and helping it achieve its objectives.
