This lovely young boy 💛

He was recently dumped in my summer village, and as a young male, he quickly became a target for the local, often unneutered dogs. To protect him, and with the kind financial help of a friend, I had him neutered just a few days ago.

I’ve also reached out to my contact in Germany — the wonderful lady who has already helped me find loving homes for 8 of my rescue dogs. The moment she saw this handsome boy, she was sure he would easily find a forever home there, and she has kindly agreed to help once again.

But getting him safely to Germany is not simple or cheap. He will need full vaccinations, a titre test, and tests for diseases, as well as treatment for internal and external parasites. The whole process takes around four months, but it has already begun with his neutering and rabies vaccination.

As many of you know, I am already caring for a large number of dogs and cats. Taking on the additional costs to prepare this boy for travel is honestly beyond what I can manage alone.

But I cannot let a lack of funds stand in the way of this dog’s chance for a safe, loving home.

Meet Alper 💛

Alper is one of five dogs who were living together in a small settlement on the road to H.O.T.S.A. One of the group has already found a home in Scotland, but sadly another has likely died — I am still trying to find out exactly what happened.

One of the remaining dogs technically has an owner, but still comes by for food whenever it’s available. The other two — Alper and his friend Chaka — are now chipped under my name for their safety.

Chaka usually stays close to the settlement, but when she’s with Alper, they wander. In fact, they sometimes walk up the road and wait for me early in the morning — they know me, and they trust me.

Right now, I am facing a difficult situation. I need to travel to England as soon as possible to visit my 95-year-old mother. But I cannot leave Alper outside, where he is at risk of being picked up by the local shelter.

To keep him safe, I need to bring him onto my land — but this means building a secure new run for him first.
