Ankara A Cappella Ankara A Ca****la, established in 2004, is a gathering of singing enthusiasts from diverse nationali There were about 18-20 people in the initial group.

The Ankara A Ca****la was started in 2004 by Margaret Roberts, a professional musician and the wife of the second in charge at the British Embassy, and by Cynthia Young, the spouse of an American Embassy diplomat. The group has performed works such as Handel's "Messiah", Faure Requiem, Durufle’s Requiem, and Purcell's "Dido and Aeneas" , as well as many other collections of songs and works. Over t

he years, Ankara A Ca****la has performed at both the British and American Embassy residences, on the grounds of both the British and American Embassies, at the Vatican Embassy and British Embassy churches, at BLIS (Bilkent Laboratory and International School), at the Turkish-American Association, as well as at many other locations. Groups that have grown out of Ankara A Ca****la include Stage on the Run, Singing for Fun, and an A Ca****la Jazz group. The group traditionally performs two concerts each year, one in the winter, usually before the Christmas holidays, and the other in late spring. The current Music Director is Mr Vern Gildhouse.
