Site Visit to G.M.S Puke Promoting School

Two officers from TongaHealth's Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Team visited G.M.S Puke on 24th July 2026 to monitor the progress of their 'Physical Activity & Healthy Eating' project, funded through our Health Promotion Action in Settings (HPAS) program.

The project encourages students and teachers in the school to make healthy choices, stay physically active, and develop positive habits that support their overall wellbeing.

TongaHealth is proud to support this to help strengthen programs that promote healthy lifestyles among our children. šŸ’š

Site Visit to Nakelo Montessori Preschool.

On 24 July 2026, two officers from TongaHealth's Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E) Team visited Nakelo Montessori Preschool to monitor the progress of the 'Safe Outdoor Play for Healthy ECE Children' project, funded through our Health Promotion Action in Settings (HPAS) program.

The project aims to promote physical activity among preschool children aged 3–5 years by creating a safe and engaging outdoor play environment. Through the installation of age-appropriate play equipment, including swings, slides, climbing frames and ball play areas. This project encourages active play, supports healthy growth and development and helps establish healthy habits from an early age.

TongaHealth is proud to support this to help create healthy environments where children can play, learn and thrivešŸ’š

Our Sustainable Impact Grant (SIG) fundingšŸ¤

On 30 June 2026, TongaHealth proudly signed an agreement with the Free Wesleyan Church – ā€˜Ohonua Youth under our SIG program, providing TOP $20,000 to implement the "Healthy Youth, Healthy Church Initiative."

The funding will support a six-month program that promotes physical activity and healthy eating among church youth in ā€˜Ohonua, Ź»Eua. Through structured sports and fitness sessions, health education workshops and counselling. This program aims to encourage young people to adopt positive lifestyle changes and reduce their risk of NCDs.

This partnership also seeks to empower church youth with the knowledge and skills to make informed health choices, while strengthening the role of the church in promoting health and wellbeing within the community.
