The Uprising movement is birthed out of the Revolution Tour (NZ). ACTS Events Management oversees the Uprising Youth projects. The movement exists to address youth issues in Tonga and offer alternatives ways to deal with them. It is as an out-reach project, targeting 11 – 18 years old. This is the fifth year this project will be running in Tonga. Uprising Youth started as a high school tour in 201
3 visiting around 15 local schools with the message of giving hope to the youth of Tonga. We have toured with ICON group as well as Team Extreme in the past few years. In 2014 the uprising tour reached over 17 schools and also extended into ‘Eua schools. 2015 with the same purpose an uprising concert took place at the Digicel Square. Uprising Youth have had a few themes which have included Stop the bull – targeting the issue of bullying, Young and Brave – targeting confidence, Raise the Roof which means to extend out of your comfort zone and fulfill your destiny. This year's theme is I AM which is focusing on IDENTITY. Over the past years the Uprising movement have had more than 10,000 responses from young people responding to the issues presented. The uprising movement is about empowering the future of Tonga to take responsibility for their surroundings, society & world. It’s about raising young leaders who will continue to raise young leaders.
