By donating blood, individuals contribute to the well-being of their community and help ensure that life-saving resources are available for everyone. Regular donations are essential to meet the ongoing demand for blood and maintain a healthy blood supply.

The full process of donating blood takes about an hour, but the actual donation itself is typically completed in less than 8 minutes. Your single act of compassion can save up to three lives. We were delighted to meet with High Commissioner Robert Sisilo of the Solomon Islands, Ambassador Jane Chigiyal of the Federal States of Micronesia, High Commissioner Curtis Leonard Tuihalangingie of Tonga and High Commissioner Samuelu Laloniu of Tuvalu at our Mission in Australia, to share updates around the Global Initiative on IHL.

It was a great opportunity to hear Pacific perspectives on protection of the natural environment and the importance of international humanitarian law.

Australia Red Cross (ARC) actively support the Tonga Red Cross Society (TRCS) by providing comprehensive financial management and procurement training. These programs are designed to build local capacity in budgeting, standardized reporting, and financial accountability to ensure sustainable and transparent humanitarian operations.

We are pleased to share that our Resource Mobilization Coordinator recently attended the Tonga - Pacific Resilience Facility (PRF) Programming Co-Design National Consultations, held at the Prime Minister’s Office.
By participating in these co-design consultations we are ensuring that our local community needs align seamlessly with regional funding mechanisms. We look forward to working hand-in-hand with the PRF and our partners to build a safer more sustainable and climate-resilient Tonga.
