Growers Federation of Tonga Maximising opportunities for the Tongan Growers Who we are? Grofed’s main objectives are:
1.

The Growers’ Federation of Tonga Incorporated (“Grofed”) is a non-profit organisation that was formally and legally created in 2008 and which has been duly registered under the Incorporated Societies Act (Cap 28 Laws of Tonga 1988 Revised Edition). There are about 1200 registered growers holding membership status in Grofed spreading from Tongatapu at southernmost – and right up to the Niuas in the

far north. Of this this total about 80% are subsistence or semi-subsistence growers and 20% are commercial growers. To increase the opportunities (income earning) for the growers of Tonga;
2. To assist and support growers to maximise the opportunities that Grofed can offer then. These objectives can be achieved through growers support; advocacy and being an industry leader providing unified voice on behalf of the industry regarding agricultural development and growth.
