Students and staff from Somerset College, Gold Coast, in collaboration with Youth in Union Rugby Outreach, travelled to the islands of Hunga, Falevai, and Ofu in Vava’u, Tonga, with one simple mission—to give back through rugby, education, and service.
Together, the team delivered rugby clinics, shared knowledge and skills, and distributed much-needed sporting equipment, school supplies, and essential resources to children and families in the local communities.
The smiles on the faces of the young people reminded us that rugby is far more than a game—it is a powerful tool that brings people together, builds confidence, creates opportunity, and inspires hope.
This outreach was only possible because of the generosity, commitment, and teamwork of everyone involved. Watching students serve others, connect with local communities, and create lifelong memories was truly special.
A heartfelt mālō ’aupito to the village leaders, schools, families, volunteers, supporters, and everyone who welcomed us with such warmth and hospitality.
This is more than an outreach program—it is about building lasting relationships, strengthening communities, and investing in the next generation.
Together, we are changing lives, one people, one child and one rugby ball at a time. 🇹🇴🏉❤️
