Today I fight with myself not to touch the keyboard, not to post anything, not to let the tears win, not to give anger the satisfaction of my voice because some silences, on some days, are the most powerful thing a person can offer.

The earth has completed its circle around the sun without you in it my love Honourable Lasike. The river does not ask permission from the stone. It simply finds its way around it, and keeps moving toward the sea.

One year, my love.

It is a grief layered inside a grief.

And it has taught me something I did not wish to learn. That dishonour does not announce itself. It arrives quietly, wearing the face of family.

You said it yourself, in the way only you could say it. Money and power are merciless in the colours they reveal.

And so they have been.

But hear me, my darling.

Because this is what I most need you to know.

I am not afraid. The road has been long and winding and at times it has felt like walking through desolation with no landmark and no light.

But I have not stopped walking. Because the truth carries no fear in the face of devastation. It does not tremble. It does not negotiate. It simply stands, and waits, and outlasts everything that was built against it.

Time is the most faithful judge there is. It separates the genuine from the counterfeit with a patience that no courtroom can hurry and no influence can corrupt.

And it has already begun its work.

I have spoken every word that needed speaking, and I will continue until your will is honoured in full.

Truth is the only treasure I carry. And it is the only thing that cannot be seized, sold, or locked behind a gate.
