As the team finalized community verification exercise with Sapa'ata, they moved on to engaging 'Esia community, Niufo'ou. The following has been completed:

✅Return of updated Community Development Plan (CDP)
✅Review and identification of community priority as sub-project
✅Elected members of community sub-committee
✅Baseline information and data collection
✅Physical mapping of community water sources completed
✅Internal institutional capacity analysis
✅Grant application completed

The next steps will include the members accompanying the staff to verify water resources and await the approval of their grant proposal application.

# # # Community Sub-Project Progress and Engagement

As community sub-projects advance to the next phase, MORDI staff continue to support Local Government Officials in facilitating community engagement and providing progress updates.

To date, most community sub-committees have completed community consultations, baseline data collection, and grant application submissions. The next steps involve securing grant approvals and finalising project budgets. Once these are confirmed, the sub-committees will communicate the agreed community contributions to residents ahead of the implementation phase.

Fo'ui community have steadily gained traction in their move towards community water security, a much needed priority in light of recent drought concerns. Town Officer Mr. Samiuela Fotu chaired a recent meeting with members of the water sub-committee members to update progress with approved grant funding.

The members were given financial breakdown of the project and contributions from the grant including contributions required from the community. As the meeting progressed with discussions and answering questions from members, it concluded with next steps requiring community updates.

Holonga community Town Officer Mr. Taniela Lasalo called a meeting with members of the community water sub-committee. Mr. 'Epeli Langi - Town Officer of Nukuleka community has wrapped up a successful meeting with representatives from the community water sub-committee. The meeting was the review the status of the sub-project including the grant that the sub-committee has successfully accessed from previous engagement. The budget review for the project including the community's contribution was discussed and reviewed. Moving forward the community will be notified by the sub-committee as the intervention moves forward.
