📣 The DRIFT Open Call for mid-career choreographers is now open!

DRIFT is inviting applications from mid-career choreographers wishing to pursue artistic research within a European context. Ten artists, one from each partner country, will be selected to take part in a program dedicated to experimentation, reflection and professional development. No finalised project is required: DRIFT primarily supports research processes that lay the foundations for future creations.

👉 The call is open to:
• Professional choreographers with a demonstrated track record in contemporary dance or performance
• Mid-career artists — beyond the emerging stage at the national level, but not yet fully established at an international level
• Artists whose practice would benefit from strengthening the research phase of their work
• Artists wishing to develop their presence and connections at a European level
• Artists with a solid interest in experimentation, transnational collaboration, and artistic research
• Artists with a good command of English (working language of the project)

◾️ Each selected artist will benefit from the following support :
• €20,000 earmarked for the research phase
• 3 Online Labs
• Showcase participation
• Artistic and curatorial mentoring
• Professional networking & international visibility

🇹🇳 Al Badil hosts artist Moayed Elghazouani as part of DRIFT Wave 1 supported artists.

As part of the DRIFT (Dance & Research in Future Time) program, Al Badil welcomes Moayed Elghazouani, a Tunisian performer and physical theatre maker whose practice combines dance, theatre, and sound.

Al Badil is proud to be one of the host partners of this international cooperation project in collaboration with nine cultural organisations : Théâtre de Liège, Maison de la danse de Lyon, Mercat de les Flors, Short Theatre, HAU Hebbel am Ufer, Materiais Diversos, Платформа сучасного танцю, Bergen Internasjonale Teater, Onassis Stegi.

𝗔𝗹 𝗕𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗹 is happy to share a new international cooperation project bringing together socially engaged artistic practices across the Mediterranean.

MedSEA has officially launched its 𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗡 𝗖𝗔𝗟𝗟 for emerging artists and cultural professionals working with community-based and socially engaged artistic practices.

Selected participants will join a four-week residency in either Larnaka, Cyprus 🇨🇾 or Sfax, Tunisia 🇹🇳 where they will work with local communities to co-create new artistic works presented within 𝗠𝗔𝗛𝗔𝗟𝗟𝗔𝗥𝗧 𝗙𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗔𝗟 and 𝗛𝗢𝗥𝗦-𝗟𝗜𝗧𝗦 𝗙𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗩𝗔𝗟.

Focus Tunisie 🇹🇳, Liban 🇱🇧 et Maroc 🇲🇦

𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗜𝗠 𝗕𝗘𝗡 𝗦𝗔𝗙𝗜𝗔 a été invité par l'Atelier de Paris / CDCN dans le cadre du festival 𝗝𝗨𝗡𝗘 𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗡𝗧𝗦, à la curation d'un focus sur les nouvelles scènes chorégraphiques méditerranéennes.

À travers sa création 𝙇𝘼𝘽𝙀𝙎 et une programmation engagée, le chorégraphe franco-tunisien met en lumière des œuvres qui questionnent identité, mémoire, résilience et vivre-ensemble.

DRIFT is a cooperation project funded by the European Union’s Creative Europe programme.
The project addresses a widely recognised issue: mid-career choreographers, although recognised nationally, lack structured support mechanisms to gain a foothold at European and international level.
Over a four-year period, 20 artists will be supported by the partners in order to provide them with the resources, time and opportunities to develop their work.
