⚠️ Violence against women and girls is a human rights violation that’s been perpetuated for decades. It’s pervasive, but it’s not inevitable, unless we stay silent. Show your solidarity with survivors and where you stand in the fight for women’s rights. ✊📢

🚩Violence can take many forms, including sexual harassment in the workplace and in public spaces. 🚩

🚨 Take a stand by calling it out when you see it: catcalling, inappropriate sexual comments and sexist jokes are never okay.

📌 Create a safer environment for everyone by challenging your peers to reflect on their own behavior and speaking up when someone crosses the line, or by enlisting the help of others if you don’t feel safe.

As always, listen to survivors and make sure they have the support they need. ❤️‍🩹

Young people are the leaders of tomorrow.👨‍💼

The lack of confidence in young people's capacity to successfully lead their organizations is a reflection of society's view of them as leaders of the future rather than now.

Many people miss the fact that young people in these situations have their own power🦾. Young people are passionate and visionary by nature. Their inexperience can be simply used to generate original and new ideas💡.
They are able to look at things from a fresh perspective and offer an alternative viewpoint that is appropriate for both the present and the future🔭. Imagine waking up to a world run by a bunch of enthusiastic😃, vivacious young people who care about the wellbeing of their communities and are sane enough to make decisions based on their experience.
Youth leaders who possess the two Ss—young leaders who are equally sensible and sensitive—are what the world today genuinely needs👌.

📜The Universal Declaration of Human Rights states in Article 23.1: Everyone has the right to work 🛠️, to free choice of employment, to just and favorable conditions of work and to protection against unemployment.🧾

If not for the certain promise of work, then what motivates us, young people, to study hard and obtain a degree 🎓? I, for one, have poured all of my efforts into my studies only in the hopes of earning a stable job with a suitable income 💼 .

Unfortunately today, the lines of the above mentioned law remain mere ink on paper 📝. Unemployment has become an ordinary situation in our world. In Tunisia, the unemployment rate of young people aged 15-24 is a staggering 40% 📈. Even women are affected by such a phenomena, as 24.9% of them remain unemployed.

🚩Who’s to blame for this social and economic crisis?🚩 Is it corrupt individuals who have infected the job application process 💸 ? Or is the outdated employment system that can no longer accommodate the rising population ?

⏩Perhaps it’s both.. Which raises the question, is it too late for this country to be saved ? Can Tunisia still offer young graduates a fair chance at employment ⚖️?

While boys and men 👦 do experience abuse, it is important to remember that the majority of victims of violence are of the opposite gender 👩 and the majority of perpetrators of such violence are and men.
🚨 Therefore, the problem must be solved from the source 🚨.

First of all, youths need to know how to prevent Gender-Based Violence 😕. Educate yourselves on the root causes of violence 👨‍🏫, Report photos and messages that exploit women and girls ⚠️, Interrupt abuse, Stop sexual harassment, Stop victim blaming, Stop r**e culture ✋, Call gender-based violence what it is – violence, not “bullying”, Create safe spaces to discuss gender-based violence, Confront and reflect on your ideas and beliefs, Stop stereotyping men’s and women’s roles ✋, Remember that violence is a choice, and it is preventable ☝️.

📢 If all boys and men started to think this way, Gender Based Violence rates would drop substantially.

These are expressions that we are used to hearing throughout our educational process, whether it is said by a parent or a teacher.

However, what they fail to convey is that even after getting a university degree, it would be difficult to land a job that pays well.

This is caused by a few factors, including inflation. As the price for necessities rises each year, job salaries should simultaneously keep up with it📈. But that is not the case in our country, where job salaries are set in stone and can barely cover the crucial expenses nowadays.

📊According to the National Institute of Statistics - Tunisia, minimum wages in Tunisia remained unchanged at 16.50 TND/Day. That is NOT a fair wage. That does not permit anyone to survive in a country ravaged by inflation.

🗣📢It’s up to us to stand up to this injustice and speak up about our right to not only a fair wage, but a fair chance in life.⚖️

🏡 Many domestic abuse victims dread reporting their husbands’ crimes for various reasons. It might be because they're afraid, have no trust in the judicial system ⚖️, or their family and friends convinced them that it’s not a big deal and is not worth tearing down a relationship over 🤫.
But that normalization of abuse is what enables the perpetrator to repeatedly assault their partner 🤕.

"She asked for it."
"We need to hear his side too."

And "beating her means I love her."

Nonetheless, Violence against women is one of world’s most pervasive and persistent human rights violations, stemming from long-held beliefs about women’s inferior status.
In addition to the pain and suffering experienced by victims, violence against women causes significant disruption in families👩‍👦, communities, and society, impacting for more people than the direct victims.

📢 Violence against women is no longer considered an unavoidable aspect of family life, social relationships, professional life.
Under no circumstances can violence against women be justified, it must be punished.

Is the economic future ready for youth?📈

🤝🏻Positive youth development interventions, we believe, can help and empower young people to become more involved, healthy, and productive members of their communities. Meeting young people where they are — whether in person or online — is essential for developing the crucial skills and competencies required to meet the demands of a rapidly changing economy.

Young people must be well-prepared with information👩🏽‍🏫, skills, and mindsets to take advantage of the changing world of work in order to satisfy fast shifting market demands, raise earnings, and grow revenues in today's and tomorrow's dynamic economy.

🔓To achieve this, we have to create youth development initiatives, because they have the ability to increase young people's and their families' and communities' economic participation.
