Over the past century KNCV has made a significant contribution to the successful fight against TB in the Netherlands. Since the 1970s, we have shared our knowledge and expertise with the rest of the world. We operate from a central office in The Hague, the Netherlands, a regional office in Central Asia and country offices in Africa and (central) Asia. KNCV raises funds from private, institutional,
corporate and government donors. In Tajikistan, KNCV Tuberculosis Foundation (KNCV) currently implements the USAID funded five year Challenge TB (CTB) project. The Strategy of CTB in Tajikistan is to improve capacity and quality of care for drug-resistant TB patients with the focus on new tools and innovations. The project supports Tajikistan National TB Control Program in introduction of new regimens for treatment of DR-TB patients: shorter regimens and new TB drugs regimen (Bedaquiline and Delamanid). KNCV Tajikistan is also the sub-contractor of USAID TB Control Program, 5-year regional program to decrease TB mortality and morbidity in high burdened countries. The USAID TB Control Program seeks to improve the health status of the people in Tajikistan by building the capacity of national TB control programs to provide more effective and accessible TB diagnosis and treatment, which will reduce the burden of TB and MDR-TB and the development of drug-resistant tuberculosis.
