Participation of the Public Organization "Anahita" in the 8th Assembly of the Global Environment Facility (GEF)
June 5, World Environment Day, became an unforgettable day for the Public Organization "Anahita": we took part in the 8th Assembly of the Global Environment Facility (GEF), held in Samarkand. The GEF Assemblies play a key role in the life of the global environmental community, as this is where the Facility's funds are allocated, countries present their achievements, and lay the groundwork for future initiatives.
In addition to the official events for country delegations, a Civil Society Organization (CSO) Forum was held on June 3, bringing together representatives of civil society from around the world to discuss nature conservation and sustainable development. On the sidelines of the forum, it was particularly useful to meet new colleagues from Central Asia and other regions — such informal encounters often yield even more than official sessions, making it possible to immediately outline potential joint steps.
On June 4, at the invitation of Zoï Environment Network, the head of the Public Organization "Anahita" participated in a side event organized by the Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF). During the presentation, the successful results of the work of local communities and the partner organization Public Organization "Anahita" on biodiversity conservation in the key areas of Yagnob were presented.
Participation in the GEF Assembly was an excellent opportunity for the Public Organization "Anahita" to exchange experiences, establish new partnerships, and promote successful environmental initiatives of Tajikistan at the international level. We extend our sincere gratitude to our colleagues from CEPF and Zoï Environment Network for their support and for the opportunity to be part of this important event.
Участии Общественной организации «Анахита» в 8-й Ассамблее Глобального экологического фонда (ГЭФ)
5 июня, в День охраны окружающей среды, стал для Общественной организации «Анахита» незабываемым днём: мы приняли участие в 8-й Ассамблее Глобального экологического фонда (ГЭФ), проходившей в Самарканде. Ассамблеи ГЭФ играют ключевую роль в жизни мирового экологического сообщества, поскольку именно здесь происходит распределение средств фонда, страны презентуют свои достижения и закладывают основу для будущих инициатив.
Помимо официальных мероприятий для страновых делегаций, 3 июня состоялся Форум общественных организаций (CSO Forum), объединивший представителей гражданского общества со всего мира для обсуждения вопросов сохранения природы и устойчивого развития. На полях форума было особенно полезно познакомиться с новыми коллегами из Центральной Азии и других регионов — такие неформальные встречи часто дают даже больше, чем официальные сессии, позволяя сразу наметить потенциальные совместные шаги.
4 июня по приглашению Zoï Environment Network руководитель ОО «Анахита» принял участие в специальном мероприятии (side event), организованном Critical Ecosystem Partnership Fund (CEPF). В ходе презентации были представлены успешные результаты работы местных сообществ и партнёрской организации ОО «Анахита» по сохранению биоразнообразия на ключевых территориях Ягноба.
Участие в Ассамблее ГЭФ стало для ОО «Анахита» отличной возможностью для обмена опытом, установления новых партнёрств и продвижения успешных природоохранных инициатив Таджикистана на международном уровне. Выражаем искреннюю благодарность коллегам из CEPF и Zoï Environment Network за поддержку и возможность быть частью этого важного события.
