🚨 IMPORTANT UPDATE: Flooding Situation in Thailand

As many of you may know, Thailand is currently experiencing severe flooding. We want to update everyone on how the situation is affecting Somboon Legacy Foundation.

🌊 The Situation:
The river has risen significantly, and as a result, our sanctuary is currently cut off from the outside world. At this moment, we are completely unreachable by both road and boat.

🐘 Everyone is Safe:
Despite being isolated, we want to reassure all of our supporters that our elephants and their wonderful mahouts are completely safe and okay. Thankfully, the sanctuary grounds itself have not flooded.

❤️ Constant Monitoring:
Our dedicated mahouts are on-site and keeping a very close eye on the rising water levels. The safety and well-being of our animals and team remain our absolute highest priority.
We will keep you updated as the situation develops. Thank you so much for your ongoing love, support, and thoughts during this challenging time! 🙏✨

Humans and elephants sometimes clash in China’s Yunnan province, where rainforests are close to many farms and towns.

🐘 Our mahouts, Mo and Cho Cho, have been working hard! 💪

Mo welded this sturdy table himself. Because the tabletop is made of metal, it is perfect for cutting and preparing fruit for our elephants. 🍉🍎🍌

Hygienic food preparation is especially important when caring for our elderly ladies. With this special fruit preparation table, we can prepare their fruit in a clean and safe way before serving it. ❤️🐘

Well done, Mo and Cho Cho! 🙏

At Somboon Legacy Foundation, every animal deserves a place where they can feel safe, respected and free to simply be themselves.

From rescued elephants to the dogs who share our home, every life matters. 🐘🐾

We believe that care means listening to their needs, respecting their boundaries and giving them the time and space they deserve.

Because a sanctuary is not just a place to live.
It is a place to finally feel safe. 🤎

For the health of our elephants.
all fruit and vegetables are soaked for 20 minutes in baking soda.
After that we scrub everything well and rinse it with clean water.
This way we remove pesticides and our elephants only get the best.
